ok. as many of you know I am not a knitter, .been trying to learn this for over 40 yrs! well........... take a look at what I did. I was making it for Ahia who is 10lbs. as it ended it fits Tressie (5 lbs). LOL. and it is even short on her. LOL. it is ok to laugh becauce I am laughing too. I will be trying it again and this time will make one to fit Ahia.
I can make anything crochet. dont even need a pattern, just look and make. but when it comes to knit that is a whole different story. :eek:

Well, I think it's beautiful. But what would I know? I couldn't knit a bit!:D It is a beautiful color on her, too. I can sew, but I never did learn knitting. It may be a bit short, but it looks great on her!:D

It is very pretty. I love the yarn you chose. It looks like it has a tiny sheen to it. Keep on knitting so that we can buy them from you!!!

Congratulations! I think it looks cute! I've been doing some knitting myself but haven't attempted crochet since school and I would really love to learn it again :)

Personally, I think you did a great job! It didn't make me want to laugh at all. I love the collar and the way the bottom is a different look. A little longer works for girls, but boys kind of need them a little shorter like that. I give you :thumbup: :thumbup:

Nice! Looks like you know exactly what you're doing. Love the color, too. I can only knit in squares :D - can't read directions. And when my grandma taught me, because I was watching her by sitting in front of her, I do it backwards. As far as crocheting - I can crochet the longest single chain you could ever want, but that's about it. I did improvise and make a string bikini in college but everyone kept untieing the strings so I gave up crocheting. Can't read those directions, either. BUT I CAN SEW!:D

That looks great to me! It is totally cute! I have been trying to learn o knit for just over a year now and I cannot get it to save my life. I am still at the casting on stage, lol!

You did a great job! Just make it longer...I would like to be able to knit sweaters...I think I might give it a try this winter...I sew all the girls clothes

Short or not, you did a beautiful job!! Keep at it, you'll get it! And I know it will look great, and not be short when your finished.

Maybe you can knit some pants to match, if your worried about it being too short.

I can sew most anything, but I flunked knitting and crochet.

It looks great to me also. I can't knit, well really never gave it a try. I did go buy all the stuff to learn how to crochet. Never could pick it up, so I guess if I can't do crochet, then knitting is out too. ;)

thanks everyone. I am working on antoher one. this time I think it will fit Ahia. I went and bought bigger needles. and a bulky type yarn so as not to see any mistakes if i make them. you just don't know how proud I am to just finally get to the point where I can make something. I will post a pic of Ahia's sweater as soon as I finish it. probably today.

I said I went to bigger needle and different yarn???? well.........
I thought the first one was bad............ this one is a belly throb!
and you ask your self why would I post this creation for all the world to see? you needed a good laugh didn't ya?
for those knitters out there.... do you think I could add some elastic and make it fit?:rolleyes:

awww.. Ahia looks so umcortable.... lol... look at the bright side ..it still looks better than something I would make...lol.. i'll stick to baking thank you very much!

actually years ago I tried to knit leg warmers (when they were in style). I never wore them of course because both of my legs are somewhat the same length. But yes this is the first thing I have ever actually made.

thanks everyone, I am getting more proud as I go. I am attempting a more difficult pattern next. I have started it 3 times already. I sure don't hold the yarn the right way and I look .... well lets say... not so elegant knitting pose. But I get it done. Its comming along.
