Does your yorkie sleep at night? Alphy sleeps with me, but I swear he's up and down all night long. Not always, but a lot of the time. Like last night he kept getting off the bed to play and stuff. Sometimes he's just not comfortable and he'll lay here then he'll move there and then the end of the bed, then the top of the bed. I'll wake up in the middle of the night and he'll come runnig from who knows where. How many of you guys have night wiggle worms and what do you do to ease them? |
When mine is a wiggle worm I wrap her in a blanket and snuggle her up so she doesn't want to leave lol because she loves to be snuggled. Does he sleep in the day at all? maybe hes noctornal ;) |
Adonis is 5 years old, and sleeps through the night, unless a thunderstorm is coming. I can feel him move around a lot then. Venus is about 15 weeks old. She's been waking me to go out, about 2 times a night from the crate beside the bed. Uh...I feel a nap for me coming soon! |
yes they usually get settled in together and sleep through most of the night |
I am so lucky! I am a sleeper, good for at least 8hrs. When Buddy started sleeping with me at around 7mos (I could not keep him in his bed at night he would contantly jump on the bed and wake me up!) I told him his as_ was grass if he bothered me! Well of course he did. Bitch black out and I feel a cold nose up my nose, in my ear or just sniffing around me. I was ready to kill him. I cried many nights not knowing what to do. Then it stopped. He started sleeping right through. I guess as they get older they settle down and understand. My 5 yr. old granddaughter sleeps over most weekends and one Sun morn she told me she woke up and Buddy was sitting up looking at my face. I know he was starring at me waiting for my eyes to open. He knows better not to touch me before I wake up!:) |
Perhaps he needs more exercise in the evening? Well......Kacee used to be up and down from her bed onto the big bed quite a bit. Now, she just does it once in awhile and I think eventually she'll stay on the big bed all night. She pretty much does now. Besides, if she gets cold, she'll come snuggle up to me.:p Muffin never, ever got off the bed in her life! They can be sooooooooo different from one another. |
Hootie and Hobbs are up and down all night. They are too tiny to jump on and off the bed, so they'll play on top of the covers. Hobbs will sometimes whine wanting off the bed, but I just grab him and put him under the covers where he likes to sleep, and rub his belly until he goes back to sleep. Hootie will settle down when Hobbs does. They are so silly. |
Indy sleeps all night long. Sometimes he has trouble getting a comfortable spot, especially if the German Shep gets on the bed, but once he is comfortable he crashes. My husband has been working nights for 2 weeks now and the bed gets filled up with the dogs quite quickly. My Jack Russel always sleeps at the foot of the bed and Indy sleeps right between my husband and I, the German Shep usually sleeps on the floor unless Bob isn't home, then he sleeps in Bob's spot on the bed. |
My babies sleep allllllllllll night long -- UNDER the covers!! Codie sleeps under the covers inbetween me and Jim but pressed up right against me. Tee Tee sleeps on my pillow but I wrap her in her little pink blanky to keep warm. They sleep great all night long -- they don't budge. On a rare occasion, Tee Tee will jump down to go pee pee but that is rare. |
Mine does the same thing! Oh gosh, your Alphy sounds just like Stedman I swear. He is up and down all night long. Well not always, but ALOT of the time. He will jump down off the bed (even though he is WAY too little to be doing so! He thinks he is big though ) when Brinkley (the cat) comes in to use his littler box (eww lol) and Stedman will actually sit there and watch him do his business. Geez, how polite Stedman  Give your brother a little privacy once in a while! Then when he wants back up on the bed, he will come to either my side of the bed, or hubby's side of the bed and sit there and bark until we pick him up. Little brat! :p I don't even recognize it anymore though. It is like an instant reflex to roll over and pick him up and put him back on the bed when he barks, even when I am dead asleep. Hubby does get very sick of it though  lol |
some do some don't my sweety gets up all night long and wakes us up barking like she wants to go out side but when i get out of bed to let her out she'll go to her food dish and start eating like she wakes me up to watch her eat. my boy tuffy and my other girl franny sleep all night i can barely wake them up in the morning it's hilarious.i physically have to carry them out of bed for them to outside |
Bob gets up at least twice a night..Everytime he jumps off the bed I get up because I think he has to *go*...I have not had a solid nights sleep except for two since June 24th... But ....I guess I dont mind. Its just the way it is..Im used to it.. |
When Tiger sleeps with me, he's like Alphy . . .he moves around so much on the bed. But with Annika, she sure does sleep like a log as long as she is cuddled next to me. She does wake up sometimes in the middle of the night (just once) and that is my cue that she needs to go so I take her to the pad and she does her business . . . then off we go back to bed and we both don't wake up until the alarm goes off  |
It takes a little while for Howie to settle down before bed. He usually chews a toy in bed for about 30 minutes before he decides he wants to go to sleep. And then he comes right next to me and literally just flops down and passes out. Lol. Sometimes he does get up around 5 - 6am to go potty on his pad on the floor. And sometimes he wakes me up because he's up and thinks mommy should be too. Last Sunday morning I was exhausted and he wanted to play so I took him into the living (where it's puppy proofed) and let him run around on the floor and play while I went back to sleep on the couch. :p After an hour or so he came back to sleep with him mommy on the couch too. Silly pup! |
I love it when they sleep next to you, but sometimes it scares the bejeebies out of me. I wake up and he's like right there and I panick that I've suffocated him in my sleep. I'm like Alphy, Alphy, and I shake him and he doesn't move... then I really yell Alphy and he's like what? What are you waking me up for? Shew!!! panic attack, another 1/2 hour for my heart rate to come down..... |
Jake sleeps through the whole night all snuggled up with me.:) |
Wow, yall are good! I really like my sleep. Good thing Riley sleeps all night long (in her carrier).I went through the "up all night long" with my kids, I'm glad those days are over. Riley stays quietly in her carrier until 6:30-7am. |
playing hard makes a good nights sleep My 2 sleep good, they have a hard day playing hard. Chloe (as you can see in my avatar, naps well too! Sissy on the other hand sits on her trying to tug ears to wake her to play more. Lucky for her it is not my ears!:p At night they "used" to sleep with me all night long. One day I tried to straighten my covers, lifting them and flying them into the air, I did NOT know Chloe was on them, she went flying in the air and hit the closet across the foot of my bed. NOW the minute I start moving, she moves into her bed until morning:D Sissy doesn't know enough to be "safe" yet |
Sometimes my two are restless during the night. But I've learned that they sleep like logs when I exercise them during the day. Now I try and walk them for at least 30 mins every day, and they crash out by 8 PM until the next morning!:aimeeyork |
Both Rexy and Rowdy move around quite a bit at night, but they don't bother us. They never get off the bed. I keep extra light blankets on top of the bedspread and they get underneath them the snuggle up. I also keep a pillow on top of the covers toward the foot of the bed (kingsize) and one of them is usually under the pillow. Anyway, the point is maybe your baby needs a blankee to snuggle under or a pillow. |
When I go to bed, Roxy follows me and gets in bed with me. Once in a great while she will want to throw one of her toys on the floor for me to pick up. My mattress is on the floor so it's only a matter of maybe 6 inches, but she refuses to get her own toys. I have the 2 cat beds in bed with me, too. Most of the time Fozzy (the 18 lb. cat) sleep on the bed. Some times Chloe will come to bed with me, too and she sleeps in one of the cat beds. Roxy usually curls up next to me, always touching me and sleeps all nite. Sometimes she goes into one of the catbeds (probably cause I'm snoring:D ). She stays all nite. When I first wake up, she start licking my face and pulling on my fingers to get me up. If I don't want to, all I have to do is cover my hands and face and she THROWS herself down next to me, making sure she hits me so I know she's mad, and goes back to sleep. She will keep doing this every time I start to move until I finally get up. If I pick her up when she's napping, she will squirm to get down and throw herself back down where ever she was sleeping and go back to sleep. I have lots of fun watching her throw herself down. She certainly lets me know she is displeased with my actions.:) |
I turn the tv and lights out in my yorkie room about nine thirty or ten oclock. They know it is time to go to sleep. i never hear a wimper out of them until I get up about six, then they run to the baby gate to see mee and curl right back up till feeding time at eight. I also do not crate my bunch unless someone is in heat. i do hear the whines at night during that time. |
both of mine sleep in a soft crate by my bed at night. they both sleep thru the night. Kizzy usually wakes up Maggie and me between 7:30 and 8 am or so. But I think maggie would sleep all day too. I have to drag her out in the mornings. she just wants to stay snuggled up in her warm soft sheep skin insert. |
Bailey and Tia are sleepers too. They snuggle down when the lights go off. They may need to use the peepee mat during the night so they will jump off the bed and whine to get back on (they are too small to jump on the big bed) but then go right back to sleep. They both move to the bottom of the bed when they hear the alarm in the morning... not morning girls at all. They have to have their yorkie butts kicked out of bed each and every morning. |
My Soph is a solid sleeper! You can actually tell she's getting tired around 7:30 or 8:00 P.M. She starts moving a little slower. The first time I saw her getting sleepy I thought there was something wrong with her LOL I didn't know she just wanted a nap! I am actually able to put her in her crate around 7:30 or 8:00 P.M. after she has already fallen asleep. I can then get stuf done around the house, hang out with the hubby and kids. Then, when I get ready to go to bed I get her out of her crate, wake her up with kisses and put her in her pen with pee pad. She goes pee, we cuddle for a bit then back into her crate, and she lets me sleep through the night until I get her up and give her breakfast. I was so tired when she would get me up every night at like 3 or 4. When I discovered I could wake her up to go pee, then put her back I was soooo excited. Like today, (I sound like I am talking about a real kid) she did not nap so whe was out at like 6:30. I don't want her in bed with my husband and I. I am also afraid I will squish her. When I first get her up in the morning though we cuddle in bed before she gets breakfast. The love of a Yorkie:aimeeyork |
Ayrwen sleeps with me. If I move around too much she will give it up and sleep under the bed. She sleeps in longer than I do on the weekends. It is great. |
My little guy sleeps very well - all through the nights - most nights. But occasionally - there's a night where I guess he just isn't all that tired. And - he usually gets up and plays - I love the nights he gets up and finds his squeaky ball (at about 3 am) and plays until I have to get up and take it away from him. He has a huge white stuffed teddybear. I got up this morning to a front room with stuffing from the bear scattered from one end to the other. Sometime in the middle of the night, he got up and chewed the nose off the bear and then kept going until he could get his head inside, and I'm sure he spent the better part of the night pulling stuffing out. There was no stuffing left in the top half of the bear. I guess that's as far down as he could get. Aren't these little guys fun? Carol Jean |
Topher goes to bed with me, but I've learned he does better when he goes to bed late. If he goes to bed when there's still someone else up....forget it. He's just too nosey! But when the house is quiet and everyone is asleep...he'll come to bed with me and stay there till noon the next day if I let him! He usually loves to sleep his morning away, and if it's in bed, then all the better! He's definitely a sleeper! We also go and have a nap each day at 3pm...that nap can last anywhere from one hour to 4 or 5..depending on how I'm feeling. He never leaves my side if he knows I'm having a bad day with my MS. |
i found out if you play with them until they get tired, they will sleep better. i try to roughin lexi up at night and she just conks out. |
My baby is 5 months old and he will sleep all night as long as he is sleeping on me. He will climb up onto my side and sleep as long as i dont move then if i move to my other side he will climb back up and go right back to sleep. |
