He's a golden yorkie and wow is he pretty! But $5,000!!! Is that a warranted price for him?

He's adorable but dosen't seem to have that Yorkie face! Maybe the coloring is throwing me off. What do the rest of you think?

i agree....my old neighbor has one and i thought i was a rare yorkie but he it was just a yorkie mix...she got ripped off and paid a lot for him...like $4000.00....so watch out!

It def. has a pom face, I would almost bet money it was a mix. And its furr is fluffy like a pom, almost frizzy. Looks just like a friends dog at that age.

I thought yorkie/pom when I saw it too. The face and the coloring is very common in poms.

I guess maybe the price might be warranted if his fur is spun from 14K gold but if its just a golden color I would say no way. Doesnt begin to meet the standard for a yorkie. Doesnt even look like a purebred to me. I agree with everyone he looks more like a yorkie/pom mix or maybe even a morkie. Maybe they just accidently put in too many zeroes when they wrote their ad. $500 would be much more reasonable then $5000 JMHO :aimeeyork :animal-pa

The post says he's AKC, but I agree with the rest of you. Definitely looks like a mix to me. Looks more like a cat than a dog! ;) Cute little guy though.

I just emailed the breeder asking for pictures of the parents. Wouldn't it be great if she accidentally typed a zero on the end of the price?? I'd snap him up in a heartbeat!!

Well, from what everyone here says (and I trust these folks here), 10 to 1 says you'll get some yorkie pics as parents!

Another one that needs to be "messed with". Should I email and offer $10,000? LOL, just kidding

Yeah, I figure I could get fake parents. I asked some questions too about how "rare" this type of yorkie is.

Here was her response to me:

Hey Sarah,
The parents are of normal coloring for a yorkie but have goldens as a
genetic throw, like parties usually come from normal colored parents too.
They are not common as the choclates are not either. I am fortunate to have
the goldens and I have a georgeous choclate female who is very light in her
coloring as if she also has a parti gene, she has brown eyes and a brown
nose - not black like a regular yorkie. I have attached a pic of her for
you to see too.

Maybe I'm just comparing him to mine, but he looks stocky for a Yorkie as well. But he really is cute I couldn't spend $5000 for him.

Hmmmm, sounds like someone who obviously hasn't been educated on a site such as YT and is counting on ignorant new owners willing to pay a small fortune for something that should not be bred for and doesn't meet AKC standards (see how much YT has taught me?)!

Looks nothing like a yorkie, a parti, or any of the pups on her site. It's cute, but come on! Who is she trying to fool?!

For $500 or less, it would be a cute mix dog....for $5,000?! Ridiculous.

But her site offers "teacups" too, so there you go.

He is cute...VERY CUTE!!!! but he does not look as a pure-bred Yorkie to me, more a mix. What you think? I would not pay that much for a dog that is not pure-bred. These people are insane AND VERY DISHONEST. Exotic??? Come on!!! :thumbdown

Would't it tick you off to order a teacup, and get a "golden pup?"

Dog is cute, but $5,000???? Yea, she's banking on someone who doesn't know enough about yorkie stardards, thats for sure.

Sure you all don't wanna mess with her? Could say you have a "golden" yorkie you want to breed with that one, and you'll give her $6,000 in cash and drive to pick it up. :D I'm mean.
