I have a bunch of pads from www.piddlepads.com .... I've had them for almost a year now and they still look good as new! No stains, rips, odor, nothing! If we had a bad day (we had a runny poo problem a couple weeks ago) I'll soak them first, but usually I rinse them out in the utility sink and then throw them in the wash with Arm & Hammer powdered laundry detergent. |
Thanks everyone for all the information!!! I really wanted the pish pads but I don't have the money for them at the time, I will definately order some later on in the future. So instead, I ordered the ones from Valethics. I just got them a few days ago and started using them. Wow what a money saver. They use to go through 15 disposable pads a day. Now they only use 5 pads a day, what a big difference!! The reusable ones absorb 5 times as much moisture and unlike the disposable ones where they could very easily step in their pee on the pad, the reusable ones have layers so that the top layer is dry and now if they step in it they don't get wet or track it anywhere!!! I love them, they are so useful. I am washing them up tonight so we will see how well they will wash up. I just wished I would have ordered them sooner, I could have saved alot of money!!! Thanks guys, these pads are great and a real money saver!!!!!!  |
i just recently got some of the plaid piddle pads from www.piddlepads.com and love love love them! i have no odor problem and they look better laying around too. they wash great and i hang them up to dry in my laundry room. i just ordered some more! |
I'm pretty neat and clean---clean our floors daily and vacuum etc...I have never smelled the pee pads....my Yorkie is small, about four pounds, so the output isn't that much.....I do change them daily.....so far, no smells at all!!!! |
I love the idea of just hanging the pads to dry! Thank you! I bet that saves more money! So glad you like the plaid ones.....I only have six but love them! I need to get more, too! |
MYTRIXIE-- Did you buy yours online too? If so, did you get them from piddlepad? or a different site? Thanks! Jill |
Oops!! Sorry, I missed that page that showed the website for the other place. I bought one from Ebay and used it during delivery of puppies and it cleaned up nice. I want more. Thanks! Jill |
We've got 3-4 "materity" pads that we got from the hospital when our daughter had a baby last spring. They are absorbent, don't leak through and washable. They work great. If you don't have any daughters having babies, you might be able to purchase them through a hospital supply store. :) |
Littlebitsmom, I bought the pads at www.valethics.com. I love them!! They are so nice to have. I washed them up and they washed up wonderfully, no stains or smells!!! They also absorb moisture so much better. I bought the extra small ones, I bought 18 for $60.60 which included shipping. I have 4 dogs that use pads, so I need alot of pads. I will be buying more but I think I will go the next size up because I would have to change the pads even less. I also think these pads would be greating for whelping as they absorb alot and wash up with no stains. And like I said in an earlier post, the top layer stays dry while the second layer absorbs the moisture and the bottom layer, which is plactic I think, stays dry too.  I would love to get the piddle pads or even the pish pads, but seeing as I need alot of pads because we go through alot of pads, I don't have that kind of money to spend on alot of pads. However, I will buy some when I come up with the money. But for now, I am very happy with the pads I have now!! |
I also like the Pooch Pads (you can get them cheaper on Amazon than at Petsmart). I tried getting my three to use the regular washable pads in the baby dept. as suggested on another thread, but mine wouldn't use them. They use the Pooch Pads though. As far as smell, you can smell once they've been used, but after washing, they no longer have an odor we can detect. My pups seem to use these better than they used the disposable ones and now I don't come home to torn up piddle pads! |
I used to use them but they would smell bad so I stopped and now use really big weewee pads from the hospital |

If you want to stay with disposable pads, use pads that are for older people. I bought them at Sam's club and they last a long time. I recently got washable pads when I got my second Yorkie and I got them here: Buy Waterproof Pads for Whelping |
Not sure if anyone's recommended this site, but I just ordered 3 used pads and would highly recommend them! Inexpensive, slightly used, look like new... Used Waterproof Pads |
Hello all It is m first ever post. I need to know if I need to change the pee pad every time my Yorkie will do her business or I can leave it for few days. |
