OMG!!! She's an alcholic!!! Me and my hubby like to have a drink sometimes in the evening while we are watching t.v. Well every time Whiskey sees us with a tumbler in our hands she waits until we aren't looking and drinks out of our glasses. When my hubby has friends over she loves to lick the condensation off of everybody's beer bottles and if one tips over she is in heaven!!!I told my hubby that what he gets for naming her Whiskey and he just laughs! It's really strange because the only thing she will drink out of our glasses is alcholic drinks and she loves to drink my coffee and expresso. Otherwise she could care less what we are drinking. I'm scared she's going to need AA!!! |
You should be careful though... Both alcohol and cafeikne are on the NO NO list for dogs as they're highly toxic. |
I have had 2 dogs that prefered booze. It was amazing how many bottles got accidently knocked over outside on the patiio!!! |
Please do not leave your coffee, cokes or alcoholic drinks where your dogs can reach them. From the poisons for dogs list: Alcoholic beverages. Because alcohol can be fatal to dogs, no amount of alcoholic beverage is safe… yes; even beer should be off limits. Chocolate is toxic to canines. The darker the chocolate, the more harmful. The methylxanthines (caffeine and theobromine) in chocolate can cause a dog to vomit, have diarrhea, experience rapid, irregular heart beat, have increased urination, and experience muscle tremors and seizures. The effects can be serious. Death from chocolate toxicity can occur with 24 hours. Coffee, tea and cola are people-food. They contain caffeine, a methylxanthine also found in chocolate. The signs of toxicity include rapid heart beat, hyperexcitability, tremors, and seizures. |

Does she smoke cigars, too ? |
My dogs don't like any of those drinks at all -- coffee, wine, beer, or mixed drinks. Just as well - because I'm sure it wouldn't take much to cause them to become drunk -- and don't we all know how miserable a "hangover" can be. Plus - often when you drink to much - you get sick at your stomach, etc. I sure don't want my dogs to ever feel that way...... it's the worst! PS: I'm not against drinking at all - I just don't want my dogs to be sick. Carol Jean |
Would you think it was cute if your child drank coffee tea beer wine etc and keep giving it to them. |
I think she was saying that her dog accidentally gets into her alcoholic beverages and coffee not that she is purposely giving them to her dog |
Whoooooa... Let's not start attacking Mrs. Chris! I'm sure she doesn't get her fur baby drunk! Living in Pensacola when I was a child,(long ago), the elderly little neighbor lady made me a little jelly glasses of chickory coffee with loads of milk and sugar and it didn't kill me. I also know lots of children that drink tea, certainly no worse than sodas, and in many countries, some children do have wine with their dinner. Certainly, these little fur babies can not tolerate what a lot of breeds might, but, I just don't think we should come down so hard on someone. Sorry, just my opinion.:) |
I had a min pin that was a alcoholic too. Every once in a while I would make me a drink and my cousin would come over and have a drink with me ... I always drank out of a certain cup and he knew. He would sit in front of me and just bark at me all night long. I had to actually have him taste it..if not he wouldn't leave me alone. I never knew that was bad for them until YT. My babies now could care less of what I drink. By the way the min pin is still alive. I had to give him away because he was aggressive..not towards me but would bite my kids every once in awhile and anyone else who step foot in my door. I would never want to be put in a position like that ever again....it was so painful and its been 3 yrs and I still feel the pain. |

love it! I think that is absoutly adorable. My little one gets into everything as well, I try my hardest to supervise, but he always manages to get into something... I am a college student and we have people over all the time to drink, but at those times my baby is gated off in the kitchen and everyone knows that it is a no-no to go in there. This way he stays out of the alcohol and out from under everyone's feet. Sorry for what other people say. Jillian |
Boy, did we start something or what!!! I would no more do anything to hurt my babies than I would my grands. My 5 year old grandaughter grew up having coffee-milk with me every morning. It was mostly milk with a dash of coffee. She thought she was pretty big stuff! When you think of all the things the dogs get into and that some even eat their own poop, most of them live to a ripe ,old age. This was suppose to be a funny! It's not like she has a high ball with her dogs every night. I am glad you enjoy your pets- Mrs. Chris! |
That's hilarious that she prefers alcoholic drinks! Gizmo actually drinks Ketle One, Jager, and Jose Cuervo if I spill it  Does anyone else have a dog who will drink up hard liqour if it's spilled on the floor? Rocky likes beer (wasn't me who gave it too him), he hasn't had anything else (w/ his body weight so small, I more cautious w/ spilling my hard drinks :p, one little sip would probably get him wasted!) |
i've never spilled anything alcohol around morgan but i'm sure she'd leap at the chance to drink it up. anything thats on the floor she's eat or drink. |

1 Attachment(s) OK OK Buddy doesn't drink it, but it doesn't mean we don't pose him for pictures when he's passed out: |
My yorkies don't like alcohol, but my Rottie does. I love tequila and every so often I drink margaritas before dinner, Bruno loves to lick out of my mug. I don't let him do it, but some times he will stoll by the edge of the coffee table and have a sip. And, I generally try to prevent it, because Bruno drools and backwashes pretty bad. Come to think of it, I do know he prefers liquor to beer, the carbonation in beer makes him snort. |

Were beer drinkers here. Haven't spilt any, but we sure get loads of kisses when we have a few. I'm sure if we left alcohol in their reach, it would be gone. |
