| My Yorkie is now 13 weeks old and he has not yet been neutered. I am hesitant to have this done because it has dramatically changed the personalities of my other two yorkies. They lost their spunk and energy. My yorkie is not is a situation where he could mate with other dogs, as his outside life is contained to my fenced in yard. I am also not concerned with him lifting his leg while he urinates. Is there anything else that I should consider when making this decision? Thanks, Keith |

| There are health benefits that come from neutering, like no testicular cancer. Dogs can smell a female in heat for blocks, so they become escape artists and are lost or hit by a car when they run out the door. An unneutered dog is more likely to get into fights with other dogs, and Yorkies don't usually win when they challenge a large dog. An unneutered male is also more likely to mark in the house. |
