Cannot predict Anything!
 

Breeders always say that it is going to be alot smaller than they will actually be, b/c that is what everyone wants to hear. The truth is no one can actually predict b/c there are so many factors; Did they actually Breed them?
Do they know the Bloodline? Amount and Quality of Food? Amount of Daily exercise? Most People who own Yorkie's don't even walk them outdoors?
Some are even "Potty Pad" trained to go only Indoors! And from what I'm hearing alot of......is alot of first time Yorkie owners who fall in Love with the Breed and purchase a "Pet Quality" puppy and later decide to Breed it with out actually understanding how to "Breed" and the whole process of Genetics & Heredity? A Yorkie is supposed to look like a Yorkie in every way, as well as act like one, they are "Terriers" first and foremost. They are like miniature Pitbulls that just happen to have beautiful long silky coats. If not by size by ego! The Breeder of my male told me he was only going to be 5-6 pounds, and he is 8 lbs. in his prime and 10 lbs. on the chunky side, depending on the time of the year and how much exercise I give him? The Breeder of my female said she would be 10-12 lbs. and she is only 6 lbs. and she has become a good friend. I would rather have them say the "Truth", but apparently the "Market" does not allow it......it's a catch 22:confused:
You have a right to be MAD it is human nature, but does Size really matter?
When I purchased him I asked her point blank is he "Pet Quality" or "Breeding
Quality", she admitted that he was of "Breeding Quality" but going to be too big for her own preferences, but he was very close to the AKC. Standard.
Except for his huge size according to her. My point is by that time I had done all my research with her (I ordered him of the Internet from YorkieBabies.com)
I really didn't get to pick him out in Person (from a picture) so I didn't know what to expect? Both Breeders were telling the "Truth" in their own way, but
in the end they just wanted to get their Puppies SOLD. With my 2nd one I let
him - Artie, choose her or rather they chose each other. But when you start out with the "Best" you will "Produce" the Best, size is only an issue if you have small children. Integrity is another issue.

When you are talking about the difference between 6 and 8 pounds it could just be all the great food that you are feeding her! I don’t think that you got cheated, you just got more to love! Some ears, I don’t think are meant to stand and look cuter down and floppy.

One of the reason it is always better to buy from a show-reputable breeder is that you may have less surprise about your puppy. :) I bought my girl from a show breeder and she turned just the way the breeder told me. My Stella was the smaller in the litter and since the breeder was breeding for showing, Stella was sold as a pet quality to me. Still she has amazing quality that I can see. People stop me all the time and tell me how beautiful, very well-bred Yorkie she is! Anyway, love your baby anyway. :)

I cannot stop saying enough good things about "my" breeder for Hope! Linda "lksdolls" was so honest with me, I knew I could trust her! Hope is exactly what I hoped for and what I was told about her....
tootie on the other hand, well, I have tried to tell his breeder that someone got into his chicken coop, LOL.... Tooties ears hang, and are SO CUTE! Hope's are straight up and I couldnt imagine her any different or him either... I have the complete opposites of the spectrum in Yorkies and love them both very much!

my two pups are really opposites, too. Tinka is #8.5 with floppy ears and a cottony coat. Kaya is #5.2 with erect ears and a silky coat. They are so different in personality, too. I had Tinka at the groomer today and the groomer said Tinka makes up for in personality what (I say) she didn't get in AKC standard. Oh well, it doesn't matter now, they're both my babies and I love them dearly.
