Life Span of Yorkies I am curious as to the lifespan of my Widget? I've never owned this small of a dog before.....thanks: :animal-pa |
That's a great question!! Me too!! Lilly is my first little doggie, I was told 8-10 years. Thanks WundrWmn for the question! ;) ~lizette |
15 or more years i heard |
Each dog varies, and size is a huge factor in lifespan. Smaller dogs can usually live up to 14yrs, but sometimes even 20. My parents had an afgahn hound that finally had to be put down at 14yrs. It depends on the health and size. For yorkies I've heard around 14, give or take a year or two. |
I've also heard 14 or 15 yrs. is average. |
I heard 10-15 yrs to |
Same i've heard 10-15 |
My first one lived to 15 and when I got Rose, the breeder had one there way older even. |
One of my special Yorkie guys passed away at the age of 16. :angelyork His vision and hearing were poor but he lived a very long, good life as a member of our family. His brother (from same parents but not same litter) died at 13 due to health problems. :angelyork |
My sweet, precious, perfect little Chester lived to be 17. He was deaf and mostly blind by then, but still the most wonderful companion. I had Rosebud until she was 18. So hopefully, you've got many, many years to go! |
It's me, Ginger!!! I finks I wanna live forever!!! (or at least as long as my mommy) ---Ginger :aimeeyork |
A woman who just bought a yorkie from me said her last yorkie lived to the age of 18. |
Our Skye lived to be almost 16 - just two months shy. He also was deaf and partially blind but lived a great life with our family! |
on a site i looked at it said 12.8 for a yorkie but others say 12 to 15 years or 10 to 14 years. sasha lived to 12 when i had to have her pts cos of a heart attack and scampi lived till 15, the lady next door had a yorkie live till 16 that then got cancer and had to be pts and there is a ad in the uk for a missing yorkie that is 20 years old bless it. |
My Max live to be 17 and was deaf and blind the last few years, but got around the house and yard great. He had a great life and was a blessing to have. |
