They seem to come in all sizes. Yours is simply going to be a bigger one. Although, by bigger, don't think that means big by any means. I have always fed mine at regular intervals, so I could control when they go to the bathroom somewhat. Mine have always wanted to eat when I eat, so that is the schedule I formed many, many years ago and it has worked great for me. You just have to experiment with the amount they will need to eat in order to not be hungry. Puppies burn a lot of energy and can sometimes consume more than you think they have room for. A pet store is not usually a good place, no. Most of the puppies in pet stores do come from puppy mills, but sometimes (occasionally) there are healthy puppies. Sometimes there are very ill puppies. You need to take your puppy to the vet to have him checked out physically. He may very well have ear mites and they have medicine you can put in his ears to get rid of them. Only your vet can determine if it is ear mites or another problem, like a yeast infection, or whatever. I've never heard of a puppy coming with a tattoo before. I know many people have them applied or microchips implanted after they get them, though. Yes, you can and should take your puppy to the vet to get a good physical checkup and see what shots he is in need of. Good luck and keep us updated about your new puppy.
