sounds like a treat I can give my WILD MAN! hehe.... |
Rescue Remedy Hi, Bailey gets so stressed out going in the car and going to her training class, that I asked our vet about remedies to try on her. She is 18mo and only 5 lbs so I am very leary about giving any medications. The vet said several of his patients are on Bach's Rescue Remedy that you can buy at any health food store. You put a couple of drops in their water bowl or a drop on their tongue. It works very well, I only give it to her once a week, when we go to her training class. I would buy the Bach's vs the pet store brand which is alot more money and also has alcohol in it. Another remedy the pet store owner where I puchase Bailey's soccer balls told me to try is to give your dog a teaspoon of pumpkin before a car ride, it is supposed to soothe their tummy from car sickness. (I have't tried this because Bailey doesn't get sick, she is just a nervous wreck in the car) Michele |
I give it to Lucy a few minutes before a car ride to prevent car sickness. It works really well. |
i used it on kizzy couple times. i used at least 6 drops since she is 10 lbs and it seemed to help a bit but took a long time and then she still was hyper at the vet when they started cuttin her nails. she hates that being done and they still had to put a muzzle on her. sure didnt slow down her reflexes. but later she did seem to lay around more for a little while. i wouldnt tell anyone to give their dog more than the directions tho cause like people, im sure one dog may be effected differently than another. but i cant tell you if its good or not since i couldnt tell it did much for her. but i dont think the regular dosage would hurt your puppy.. |
A few weeks ago I had a trainer/behaviorist come over to work with Max. He's been anxious lately around other dogs and gets aggressive around them. He doesn't bite them but lunges toward them and barks (in an aggressive way). I was afraid someone was going to take a bite out of him one of these days...Anyway, she gave me a mixture of essences to put in his water (rescue remedy was included) to decrease his anxiety level. It was AMAZING the change I saw in him within 3 days. When we were walking outside and we saw another dog, he just stood and watched--no barking or getting jumpy. It's great stuff. The behaviorist also made a mixture for me because work has been extremely stressful lately and I needed something to calm me :D |
