Just a comment about freefeeding. You'll find housetraining a lot easier if you keep your little one on a feeding schedule for now. The young pups will usually have to go shortly after they eat (you'll figure out what yours does soon enough). If you want to freefeed, wait until she's completely housetrained. BTW, I might have missed this, do you have a name picked out? |
I got both Darla (6 months) and Reece (almost 11 weeks) at 8 weeks old. They both are doing well. I free feed both but Reece seems to eat way to much so I have put him on a shedule until he gets a little older. He will still try to steal food from Darla or Sadie's (my Boykin spaniel) bowl but he is has pretty much learned that his bowl is his lol.. Why not just get a couple outfits for now and when she gets older buy her a couple more as they grow fast and you just can never predict how big they will get. Darla is full grown now my vet says..she is just about 4 pounds and LOVES to be dolled up! Reece hasent experienced anything fancy yet as he doesnt have enough hair for bows...but he WILL wear bows boy or not lol!! I think its too cute!! Congrats on your new little CoCo Channel!! Dawn |
hey everyone, thanks for the help! i have 2 say the people on this site are the best! :D. I just wanted to update u guys. 2day i'm going 2 go see my baby and give them the deposit. she said she couldn't really keep the baby for a few more weeks because she is going 2 be moving out and really busy so we decided that instead of me taking her monday i'll be taking her that friday b4 she starts moving. that way shes with her mom a bit longer (i know its not much but the more, the better) and i can spend the whole weekend with her and not have to go to school. after i go see her and how big she is i'm gonna go 2 petsmart and buy her an x-pen, crate, some sweaters since its freezing in chicago, and anything else she's going 2 need :). |
Just make sure when you go to petsmart to get some nutrical |
We got Roxy the day of their first set of shots - 6 weeks old. She took her first walk around the neighborhood the next day. Then rode in the car for about 16 hours in my dtr's lap the following day with 2 cats and 2 birds while we moved to PA. She was not from a breeder and had no health guarantee. We are very lucky she is so healthy because I have always had outside mixed breeds and had no idea about all the problems the small breeds can have. I didn't know about hypoglycemia or anything until we joined YT. I am planning on getting another baby, but will take the advice of everyone on here and wait until it is a little older(altho that will be sooooo hard-they're so huggable when they are tiny). I will also be better prepared for anything that might occur. I am so thankful we found YT and learned so much about this breed. They are definitely addicting. Thank you so much YT members.:) |

:p Hehehe love the name Coco Chanel ;) Congrats! Just have lots of nutrical on hand. Coco was a teeny tiny when I got her so I free fed her, so she always had food out. She does great with it. It's better for me, not to have her on a feeding schedule, incase I run late at work, or something happens, she won't be starving. Plus she put herself on a feeding schedule. Even though the food is out there all day, she eats when I eat :D so her pottying is on the dot everyday. But it doesn't always work for everyone, but I'm more comfy at work knowing Coco has food and water as she may need them :p Have loads of fun shopping, cause girls are the best to shop for. |
