Bad Experience At The Groomer!!!! So my husband took Scruffles to the groomer today. He showed him a previous picture of him with a puppy cut. He ask that he NOT be shaved but trim him up. So why when Jim picked Scruffles up, did he come back shaved (face and all)??? Why was he cut underneath by his belly and the groomer NEVER mentioned this to my husband until he noticed. Needless to say my husband lost it and if I had been there, I would have lost it too. It got so bad that the groomer had the phone in his hand ready to call the cops. My husband said that he came so close to putting his hands on the groomer. I am in tears right now. He doesn't even look like a Yorkie anymore. The groomer did a hack job on my baby and I feel so violated. I can't even fully describe to everyone how I feel right now. All Scruffles asks for is our love and to take good care of him. I feel like I've failed him. I handed my baby over to some jerk who hurt him and butchered him. I thought he was good. Honestly everyone, I can barely look at Scruffles I just want to throw up from what was done to him. |
I feel so bad you are going through this. You have not failed your baby you thought this person was good and he wasn't. Please don't blame yourself. His hair will grow back and I'm sure he is a cutie pie anyway. |
Sorry I feel bad for you and have been there but you need to pull yourself together. Your baby is feeling the tension from you and will act on that. Best thing you can do is treat him like he is beautiful! I hope you can find a better groomer. |
OMG!!! im so sorry this happened . ok try to calm down ok...i would of had a heart attack too.. your poor husband... ok at least your baby is ok, right? it could of been worse, just relax.. im sorry i dont know what you can do or i really dont know what to say...just give the baby hugs and kisses and give him some from me and lexi....i would raise hell, but what that gonna do. |
Well, try not to feel so bad. Most all of us have been there at one time or another. Now, Scruffles isn't going to be standing in front of the mirror and screaming at you for what happened. Scruffles, or at least most yorkies, could care less, except some feel nekkie when they take it all off sometimes. It's very disgusting that a groomer can't follow instructions when faced with a photograph as reference, but as I said, you aren't the first and you surely won't be the last. Scruffles just wants to be loved. He will appreciate a cute sweater right now and in time his hair will grow back (about 1/2-inch per month). Again, I'm sorry, but as I also said, you aren't the first, either. |
Thanks everyone. Things could be worst and I know it will grow back. I just can't believe this happened, seeing that the groomer has a Yorkie himself. I was just thinking that I'm going to have to put a sweater on him. And his cut will heal. This has just been one of those weeks and this was the straw that broke the camel's back. First, my husband injures himself on the job last week so he's out on Worker's Comp until he has surgery. He'll be ok physically, but he's miserable right now. This is kind of funny, but this morning, he got up to make coffee. We have a Cuisinart thermal Grind N Brew that was a gift from his parents. It's an expensive coffee maker. My husband put the water in it, grinded the beans and turned it on. He forgot to put the caraf underneath it. Neither one of us was in the room while it was brewing. There was coffee everywhere. I cleaned up the mess on the floor and left the room for a couple of minutes. Next thing I know, I hear water running in the sink. Well, he took the coffee maker and soaked it in the sink under running water to clean it out! Coffee maker is fried. Then the groomer incident! I think we both need to start this day over:-) |
OMG! That is worse than a nightmare! I suppose you could look at it this way - you've had your bad luck for the year. The rest of the year should be good.;) Honestly, I'm sorry it has been so bad. What is so bad is that you had to pay for that haircut! |
We're off to the vet. I just looked again and he's bleeding... |
Oh no i hope hes okay |
i definatley wou ld NOT have payed and make sure anyone i come in contact with knows what happened to never go there word of mouth spreads like wildfire! he will be ok it will grow out quickly hopefully things will get better asap! |
I'm so sorry you are having one of those "Murphy's Law" weeks. I do hope Scruffles' wound is ok, bless his heart. Keep telling him he is beautiful. Otherwise, he might think he has done something wrong. Let us know how he makes out at the vet's. And, if there is someone higher up at the groomer's, let that person know what happened. If a visit to the vet is required after what they did, then they should be responsible for the bill. |

I'm more concerned about the groomer cutting him and not saying anything than I am about the bad haircut. I would throw a fit if a groomer cut my yorkie, ESPECIALLY if he couldn't be honest enough to tell me! I hope Scruffles is okay, I'm glad you decided to take him to the vet. |
That's terrible. It's good your taking him in and I would stop by the groomers and hand them the bill. I have never in 35 years of owning yorkies have had a groomer shave them. I always tell them I am growing her out and do not want anything cut except for the ear tips. I trim the feet and length if necessary. What don't some groomers understand!!! Keep us posted. |
He CUT him ? and he's still bleeding ? Poor guy - I'd be really upset too. REALLY upset if I saw blood. Most of us have had really bad haircuts but I can't say anyone ever shaved the girls faces - If that groomer has a yorkie I have to wonder what it looks like. But to cut him on his tummy ? That's like the easiest place to shave ! :( :( :( I would put him in clothes cause he probably does feel embarrassed....they really feel stuff like that and a cute little shirt will perk him up. Keep telling him how cute he looks too - and he\'ll be ok - |
