Is it possible for you to get him pet of his own? |
I really feel for your situation - it really does sound like you've tried everything. How disappointing that the training sessions didn't work... I really wish I had some advice to offer you but it really sounds as if you've tried everything. If the cat is not declawed(( NO WAY)) i love cats but they do like to play different than dogs. try finding someone with a pup or a pet that can play with you baby and take turns taking them at each other house. you would be surprise how many people would do this. |

1 Attachment(s) I agree with supervised visits first. I had two very fat and spoiled cats before I got my yorkie. They weren't too fond of her at first, but they tolerate her now. John (yellow tabby male) loves playing with her now. Jo Jo (grey calico female) just ignores her and does her own thing. She is really picky and really doesn't like anyone except for me. When I brought Bree home, I just kept them separated in different rooms until I came home. Then I would let them get together. Now the three of them run wild in the house all day, while the Lab puppy has to be in his kennel when we are not home.... I have 5 cats that i leave with my babies, they have their full claws and aren't cut. I had 3 of my kittys before my doggy babies and 2 after my doggie babies, ive have had no trouble at all, but as this cat hasn't been around dogs it might not be a good idea :) |
Why don't you take your baby around the cat and see how they do get them used to each other then one day keep the cat when your home a couple of times and see how they do...My cats 3 of them are afraid of Bear & Lexie now, they tag team them....I feel sorry for the cats, but I know they can jump up on something to get away....lol |
