| Simba ran away! My fiance and I went to Cancun for a couple of days and returned last night to hear the story every pet owner is afraid of. On Monday my fiance's brother took the dogs down to the yard but when he came back up he realized that Simba must have squeezed himself through the bottom of the gate and ran away! We live on a very busy street so he feared the worst. He immediately started making flyers with a look-alike picture of another Yorkie he found online and put it up all over the neighborhood. Unbelievable, three hours after Simba ran away someone called and said they had him. I guess his son saw Simba running around the streets, all scarred and brought him home. He actually wanted to keep him but his father said that he must be returned so they drove back to where the son found him and saw the flyer and called You guys, my heart got all cold and fell to the ground when they told me the story. Simba could have so easily been run over or, if someone else would have found him, kept by whoever. He wasn't wearing a tag, nothing. I can't believe that we are that lucky! We will immediately go to Home Depot tonight to buy something to cover that gate area...to be honest it never seemed important because Simba never showed any interest in going under the gate...I am sure if my fiance's brother would have realized right away that he had gotten out and called for him he wouldn't have ran...the noise of the cars must have scarred him. This again truly shows me that I have a guardian angel, my mother who passed away a couple of years ago. Just thought I share this story. What a scare but I am so so so glad that it had a happy ending. ~Anita |

| Wow even hearing the story after the happy ending is just heart stopping. Glad the baby is home safe! Sounds like you have a terrific brother in-law! I would give a big hug and kiss for acting so quickly with flyers. |

| Hahahaha...to be honest we aren't that close...I think he was more afraid that I was going to kill him (which, to be honest, could have happened) so that's why he had to put all the effort in finding him. But yes, I owe him and the rest of the family sooooooooooooooooooooo much for reacting so quickly...who knows what else would have happened... Quote:

| I'm so glad Simba is back and safe. Thanks to your brother-in-laws fast action too with flyers. I hope all those that read your story will check their gates and fences now so they won't have to go thru what you had to. My heart would have stopped ! Its a good rule to always stay with them when out in their own yards these days when there are people out there that could 'snatch' them up pretty fast and be gone if they see them alone. We never let ours out of our site when outside and theyare always on a leash. We'd hate to go thru loosing our furbabies. |

| I am so glad that your scary story had a happy ending! I am assuming that your future BIL survived the telling of the story? I can imagine that you wanted to deck him. |

| I know...my heart is still beating fast just thinking about it... He actually had to fly to Washington D.C. yesterday so I haven't had a chance to thank him personally yet BTW, thanks for the silk harnesses, they are beautiful and will get their debut today! Quote:
