How much does your puppy weigh?? Reece is going to be 10 weeks old on Saturday:animal36 and today while I was at the pet store picking up supplies, my hubby put him on the bulk food weigh scale...he is just about 2 pounds!! Hes got a little head and a porky belly...no problem with eating for him!!:p At 8 weeks he was just over 1 pound...and already he is too lol... Anyone have a pup around Reece's age?? And if so what does he/she weigh? Dawn:aimeeyork :animal36 |
Jake is 9 1/2 weeks, and he weighed 1 lb. 10 oz. on Sat. when I picked him up from the breeder. She weighed him right in front of me so I know. I took him to the vet yesterday, and he weighed 1 lb. 6 oz. on their scale. I think there must be a huge difference in their scales because there's NO WAY he lost any weight. He wouldn't eat the first day, so I put cottage cheese on his food and he ate it all up. Ever since, he's been eating like a little piggy lol. We all look at him, and we think we see a little difference in his size, so I bet he has gained a little. He gets furry everyday too.:) It seems like anytime I've taken a pet to the vet, their scales are way different than others I've used. |
Lillie is almost 6 months old (in 6 days) and she weighs 1lb 13oz |
Lola is 12 weeks and weighs 2.1 ounce, I finally got a little bigger one than I have now :p . I'v been wanting a little bigger yorkie but no hope with Candee 1 year 3 months (2.11 ounces) and Nemo 6 months (2.10 ounces). So, now I do not have to be that careful with my Lola :D |

3 weeks ago when maggie was 11 weeks she weighed 1.9 oz. She goes back to vet tomorrow and she is almost 14 weeks(will be 14 weeks Sunday) now and I'm not sure what she weighs. shes grown a bit but she isnt heavy at all. I wouldnt want to guess but I doubt she weighs over a couple of lbs yet, then again its hard to tell by picking them up. she dont feel heavy as a 2 lb sack of sugar tho. But she might surprise me and be 3 lbs but i'd sure be surpised if over 2 lbs. Kizzy weighed 8 lbs the 1st of Aug and she is 7 months but she hasnt grown any really in a month so I think she is grown as big as she's gonna get as far as height and stuff. she could get a little fatter and wouldnt be too big. 8 lbs isnt nearly as big as I had imagined it would be for a dog. |

I think it depends on who is weighing the dog and why they are at the vets office. If its just a check up and not sick visit, the vet techs may not be as particular. One time I had Bentley in for a well visit and the tech said he weighed 10 lbs! I told her that unless he gained 4 pounds without it showing it's not accurate and please reweigh him. Then she came back and said he's 6.4 lbs, which is about what he weighs since he fluctuates about a 1/2 pound. I know weights aren't always accurate because dogs wiggle and that makes the numbers fluctuate. I suggested to my vet practice to place a carrier on the scale, then zero the scale and then place the puppy in the carrier. This will give an accurate weight. Plus the puppy feels more secure in the carrier so he tends not to wiggle as much!;) :aimeeyork |
Good thinking..I like the crate idea!! Dawn |
