Tucker is getting his first haircut this weekend. He is 4 months old. Luckily, my cousin is a dog groomer so she dog my dogs for free :) |
Hercules got his first grooming at almost 5 months and Athena got hers at about 3 months. |
Chachi is 16 weeks too and I am getting ready to take him to the groomers. I don't want much hair taken off. I just want them to even it out a little. My groomer said the earlier the better as far as starting to take them. That way they get used to it. |
I havent yet, but I am considering it. I need someone to trim their paws for me becasue they will not sit stiull no matter how sleepy they are!!!! |
Lucy first went when she was about 3 mths I think. Its really difficult to cut her coat as she hates the sound on scissors! It is a two person job, one cutting, the other feeding treats! :D She is better now but she hates it around her face and tummy |
Is there any benefit to trimming their hair?? So, for example, does it grow in stronger, faster? Is it like human hair that needs trimming to grow in more healthier look? |
I work for Petco as a groomer and they sent me to school. I had to sign a contract that i would work for the company for a set amount of time since they paid for all the schooling but I love it. I will stay with Petco for awhile but have thought about doing my own grooming on the side some day too. They are sending me school to be a dog trainer too so I really cant ask for anything more. visit's first worked best for us... When we first adopted Schatzie, we would go into the groomers just to visit (sniff around and smell) while I dropped off Annabelle our Schnauzer. After two visits I felt Schatzie was familiar with the groomer and her establishment to make her "babies first hair cut" go with less tension. |
