It's a rare thing to find a tiny(by tiny I'm just assuming you mean 4 pound range or under?) for anywhere under the $1500 range. Usually the lower cost ones are purchased by friends of the person they bought them from. I have heard some YT members say they've paid $700 or so but honestly, I think it's really hard right now to find that. Especially if you're looking online. At the 5 pound size they can cost a little bit less(if you're not looking for anything too specific). Scarily they can cost much more in the $2,000 and up range(I saw one website that had a puppy similar to mine that I paid $1500 for and they wanted $4900  so definately look around). You want to look close to where you live to avoid having to have the puppy shipped because that can add an extra $200 to the cost. Also be VERY careful, a lot of tiny yorkies can be priced in the $400 range but turn out to be scams. Try your local newspaper so you can actually go and see the puppy and it's parents. You can also look at hoobly.com and only search in your area. There's a "how much did you pay for your puppy" thread that will show you the big price range. Good luck on your search. If you don't mind an adult dog the rescue idea might get you a tiny in that price range. |
:aimeeyork I doubt you'll find a tiny one for the price you're looking to spend. Bigger furbabies need good homes, too. Oliver is 14 lbs, and we wouldn't trade him for the world. He's such a love! You should consider getting a bigger one, maybe the price will be right for you. Yorkies, no matter what size they are, are the best!!!:D |
Oh! and one more thing..... :welcome4: :yorkietal Hope you enjoy YT as much as the rest of us. It get's addicting! lol! |
Hello and welcome to YT!!! How tiny is tiny that your looking for? Most Yorkies are small, 5-7lbs and thats pretty small. I would never recomend a yorkie under 5lbs, trust me, I have one and I'm constantly worrying about her. Believe it or not, but finding a Yorkie for under $400 will be hard, specially if you want it to be in great health, but that does not mean it's impossible either, when I set out to find my 1st baby, she was $475, so it can be done, just have to be patient and keep your eyes and ears open. You came to the right plave though and I wish you lots of luck! also try the classifieds on www.petfinder.com |
Hey,, guys, even though Chancie has prospective parents coming tonight, maybe it'd be worth these ppl to check out anyway! THey're in the same city! Someone give them Kim's phone number! |
do you have a number I can call? |
Thanks to all who replied. The only reason I want a tiny is because we have 2 other dogs and I want something much smaller than Duke(6 month old Great Dane) and Jax(3yr old JackRussell Terrier). We had looked into other tiny breeds. Then I saw this beautiful Yorkie named Bailey and fell in love with the breed. We have found some larger ones but they are too tall for our liking. If we can't find one now we will just keep looking til we do! All advice is welcomeand appreciated.:animal36 |

Am so excited. Am so excited. Just spoke with a lady who lives about 25-30 minutes from me. She has a male for $450 he's not quite tiny he'll be 7lbs or so. She says she has smaller one too or bigger ones. James and I are going out to her place Monday(labor day) to check them out:) . How cool is that. She seems really dedicated to her breeding. She only breeds Yorkies:thumbup: .Has been a breeder for 20+ yrs and done only Yorkies for 7yrs. Maybe James will cave and we can get a precious little one soon. :aimeeyork |
