That is so sad. What happened to Nathan's mother and sister? I got Debbie because she was the only one left and I really did luck out. I only called two breeders. In the morning I went to see the first one. Her puppies were of the larger type and their ears weren't up yet. I had an appointment to see Debbie that evening and she had been described as a "teacup" with a Dad that was only two pounds. I saw her Mom, Dad, sister who was already spoken for but bigger and her Aunt Samantha. They weren't very friendly and Debbie showed no interest in me but I took her home anyway and she's brought me nothing but happiness. |
My husband told me that after he lost his miniature schnauzer 'Porsche' he was devastated and never wanted to have a dog again. But as he visited his brother they had a litter of Yorkies and Mitzi came right up to him and put her tiny paw on his foot. That was it! So Mitzi was not picked, she picked her new daddy.:aimeeyork |
I don't think I could pick among a litter of Yorkies. I love them all. The reason we ended up with Eddie was because a friend got him and was terribly allergic to him. Jack was a rescue. Our only "choice" was yes or no, and we couldn't say no to either one of them. |
My first yorkie, Katie, picked me! Went to the breeders home, she had 2 females left and had them both sitting on the couch. When I sat down, one of them ran over and was extremely playful and wanting all my attention. The other one looked up at me with the sadest of eyes as if to say, "I'm not as playful as my sister but that doesn't mean I won't love you less." That did it for me - I chose the "calm" one with the sad eyes because she just "grabbed" my heart - never ever regretted the decision - had her for 8 1/2 wonderful years:):) Gabby came from a breeder and was the only female born in a litter of 3 so it was really a no brainer - I wanted a female, had first pick, so she came home to me! And Gage was a rescue and as Mike said, the only choice was yes or no - could NOT say no to such a sweet face and he HAD to get out of the conditions he was living in - so off he came to live with me:) |
Honestly, I didn't pick Meeko. Meeko picked me. I went to see "a male yorkie" for a great price from a local breeder (who raises show dogs). I thought I wanted a teacup. But while I was there she educated me quite a bit about teacups and informed me that this little guy would be a toy sized adult. I was wishy washy about him. Although during my visit, he "asked" for me to pick him up. I did and put him on my lap. Once or twice I sat him back down on the floor. But he would turn around and put his front paws on my leg, to be picked up again. How could I resist. She said that he doesn't usually do that. Normally, he likes to show off in front of strangers, jumping and playing around in front of them. But had never begged to be picked up. Ever since, whenever he "ask", I pick him up! :aimeeyork |
I knew I wanted only a yorkie and after lots of looking and reading I finally decided on what breeder I liked what they had best and contacted them. After many interviews by them I waited for what I wanted to get from them. It was worth the wait. I love my Rose. |
He was the last 1!!!!! It was fate as hes my no 1 little man! |
