Rude Lady at Store!! I had a 3 1/2 pound baby that I had to put down 2 years ago because of a brain tumor. He was very fragile and I was always concerned when little kids came over. His legs were like little chicken bones! When he died I definately wanted my next baby to be a little more hearty. Otis is 7 pounds. He's big enough to hold his own, but can still snuggle up in a little ball in the middle of a pillow. There's nothing wrong with the small ones. They didn't ask to be bred down to that size. I just hope these owners have the right environment to keep them safe from harm. This lady doesn't sound like a true dog lover. I guess according to her your dog must be under 4 pounds to be considered "cute". I feel sorry for her. She obviously has some insecurity issues and needs the extra attention that a tiny little dog brings her! She's ignorant. |
Some people are just jerks and are always going to find something to criticize another person about. I have gotten questioned as to whether Nikko was a full blooded yorkie because of his thick wavy coat. Rather than get insulted, I just feel sorry for the person for their stupidity. Ignorance should be pitied. that woman was an absolute idiot for thinking that her dog is better because he is smaller. All yorkies are beautiful big or small and I guess we can be lucky that they come in so many sizes so that people can choose the right size for their family. |
I am sorry that some people are so rude. I don't know if you realize that Yorkies can get as big as 12 lbs, but I have 2 of them. Daisy's parents were both around 7 lbs (I saw them both several times while I was waiting to bring her home), which is what I was hoping she would be. The other pup in the litter was a much smaller boy. The guy I got her from told me she will probably be a "bigger"Yorkie but as she kept growing...and growing...and growing...I wondered when she would stop. People always ask me what kind of dog she is because she is so big and her ears do not stand up, they don't recognize her as a Yorkie. I don't care if she got to be 50 lbs, I would love her just the same. We take our pups everywhere and I have seen a lot of bigger ones as well as small ones. No one has ever made a rude comment to me about their size and I wouldn't care if they did. I just know inside of me that she is the best baby anyone could ever have, and she is MINE. Same thing goes for my little boy Yorkie mix. I wouldn't trade either of them for a Yorkie of any size! By the way, your baby James is adorable and unmistakably a YORKIE!!! |
I haven't had any experiences concerning size, but I think if I did, instead of being rude to the rude people, I would get excited and say "hey, did you see what they have especially for Yorkies"? then take them to the book section and hand them a book about Yorkies..then tell them.."You can read about the standard size in here, have a nice day"..then walk off. I practice it over and over, but so far no one has said anything to me...YET. |
