My husband is into hunting REALLY bad - and has gotten our youngest (who's 13) just as "addicted" as he is! But....I don't mind. We belong to a camp where we have put a single-wide trailer and fixed it up rather nice for "deer camp". I enjoy going up there as much as he does for no other reason than to get "away" from phones and traffic! I don't hunt but will go with my 13 year old to the deer stand when DH is working at the fire station. I take a good book and sit there and read while he does the scouting and looking for deer. And yes, a lot of money is spent on this "hobby" - deer camp dues, money for ammo (bullets, arrows), clothing (for 4 of us - 16 year old hunts occassionally), and not to mention the food we have to buy and gas spent getting to the camp each and every week-end during the season. We all enjoy football and baseball so we basically "ignore" each other when football or baseball is on:) And we are a true house divided: 1 Bama fan (guess who THAT would be), 1 LSU fan, 1 MSU fan, and 1 Ole Miss fan - it does get rather exciting during football season at our house - but we do have fun:) And the best part, hubby has never once complained about our furbabies! He supported me when I first started asking for one years ago and loved her as much, if not more, than I did. It literally broke both our hearts when Katie died. And even though he was not real sure about bringing Gage into our home last year, he has grown to love him as much as me....and doesn't complain about the money I spend on either of them, just shakes his head and says they are so spoiled - with a grin on his face:D So, I guess I'm one of the "lucky" ones - hubby's only hobby is hunting, we all enjoy football and baseball, AND best of all, he loves and supports our furbabies:):) |
My husband is the same way. He has nothing to do with my dogs. He will not let them out to potty or even let them lay in his chair. If he walks in the room and finds them on his chair he has a cow. But he doesn't mind the money from selling there puppies. I just sold their puppies for $3250. He didn't have any problem spending the money on bills. His hobby is corals. Yes, I said corals. You know those things that are in the ocean. He has a green house in our back yard. He is trying to grow them and sell them. But lets just say it has been 3 years and no money. Just lots of debt. Now he wants me to remortgage the house so he can have more money to support that money pit. How can somebody not love our furbabies. They love unconditionally. Even when we are grouchy. Thanks for this post. It helps to vent. Those who do have a husband that loves their furbabies, make sure you give your husbands bigs hugs and thank them. |

Hahahaha I like that idea. She should say "Babe lets go shopping, I'll use my dog money, you use your coral money"...she who comes back with the most stuff! THen she can say "I have so much money from my hobby, I don't know what to do with it, want some money babe? OH wait, my dogs need new clothes!" I'm so thankful that my bf understands Rocky's needs. The clothes, toys, all that he doesn't mind me buying stuff. But he doesn't understand why I Need numerous carriers for him, which surprises me because he knows how I am w/ purses! The other day I overheard him telling one of his friends "I love how Morgan pampers him" :) |

You guys are funny. Thanks for making me laugh. |
Totally agree... anyone who has a supporting husband/boyfriend/whatever praise them... also give me thier numbers so my bf can meet them and hopefully knock some sense into him. :D My bf is a total animal lover (I mean TOTAL ANIMAL LOVER!) but when it comes to my animals, he hates them. no not dislikes... actually hates. it is horrible. It frustrates me so badly b/c i spend my money, i cleanup after them, i feed them, i take them to the vets, i do E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G!!!!!!! and then after i do it all, i still have to clean up after his lazy butt and make him dinner... jeeze guys, i am a 20 yr old college student, don't i have enough stuff to do?! and this is what kills me:the other day I made a remark that the shorts that he was wearing were dirty and that he should throw them in the dirty laundry, he looks at me and says "good idea, our laundry basket is real cool... you put the clothes in there and then in about 3 days they end up all folded in your dresser" I was like NO s**t! I PUT THEM THERE!!!!! and he is just so stingy sometimes, i mean "honey, order off the dollar menu" when he takes me out to eat stingy. but i love him anyways thanks for letting me vent |
