Frontline plus works great for Buddy. Like anything else maybe different products work differently on different dogs!(what a mouthfull that was) I do love that darn commerical! The little lab puppy I want to squeese:p |
Yes - you can easily get the fleas off your dog with many different products - but if you don't get them out of your house and your carpet ----they'll be right back on the dog in a day or two (not the product's fault). In California - where fleas are especially bad - most of us had to have an exterminator come by and spray inside and outside our homes once a month. Here in Spokane, WA --- fleas are almost nonexistant (weather difference - cold winters). You might also try treating your dogs - vacuuming good (remember to toss your vacuum bag immediately) - washing scatter rugs and using one or two of those insect bombs in your house. (Whenever I did this -- of course, we had to all leave for the day.) It's always a pain --- but for sure, just removing them from your dog isn't going to solve the problem..........because they are still all over your house! Carol Jean |
I think with it being so hot all over this summer their are more bugs in general. I have two nursing yorkie moms that I don't even let outside (they use the pee-pads).... I don't even want to risk them bringing in fleas.... It's bad enough I may be bringing them in on me ... after playing with my other dogs outside. Hope you find something that works on your little one. :) |

Hm..that's weird! Zoey has been using K9 Advantix since she was a pup, and I never had problems. :) Maybe it was a bad one out of the bunch? |

Yes, I don't believe the products the problem I think the fleas are in your yard and house. It's a pain to get rid of them, but you should start spraying once a month and what I do is spray in March when winter just leaves and keep spraying every month; so when May, June, July (hot months come) their eggs, larve, and fleas themselves will be dead and not hatch when the first heat comes. Now when it's winter time and cold, cold weather you don't need to spray. The fleas hatch in the heat, but the trick is to kill their eggs and their larve, because just killing the fleas themselves WILL NOT work. I use advantix and it works like a charm, my dogs have not had fleas in over 3 years ( and I live in California, where fleas are a huge problem) ever since I started spraying myself monthly from March through October. You can always get someone to come out and spray for you though. |
The fleas have been absolutely HORRIBLE here this season! I use Frontline and it works GREAT, but it doesn't last the whole month. The vet told me I could use it once every 2 weeks. That can get rather costly, especially with 2 dogs, so I've been using 1/2 tube on each of them every 2 weeks. Seems to be working GREAT so far!   |
i just purchased 8 months of K-9 advantix for my baby, please dont tell me it doesn't work. i heard they were the best out there, as it protects against everything, unlike Frontline. i put Frontline on my baby the very first time he got them about a week ago and now he's scratching still like mad. i don't recommend it. i haven't seen a flea back (although he only had very few to begin with), but he shouldn't be still scratching either. maybe try Advantage or give him a flea bath (groomer recommended Zodiac brand) and then put the Advantage or whatever else you may use right after in a clean area. good luck, i hate fleas, they make me itch! |

I hope you have better luck than me! |
Yes, it does. Frontline Plus is the ONLY way to go. I would take your baby with you one day, flea bomb your house, have her given a flea bath, and 2 days after her bath (her natural oils need time to return to help the frontline stay on her body) put Frontline Plus on her. Also have your yard treated. Should help the problem, if not solve it. I swear by Frontline Plus. I live on a mountain surrounded by woods and haven't had a single flea problem all summer *knock on wood* haha |
ALSO, find a groomer or go to your locla health food store and find a ALL NATURAL flea shampoo. They are safest, and the most gentle for your baby but HIGHLY effective. We only deal with all natural products in our groom shop and swear by the one we use. Unforutantely it's unavailable to the retail public. :( |
I am sorry you are having such bad luck with fleas, I can\'t stand fleas. I use advantage and have not had a single flea for 6 years now. I think you should really treat/spray your yard, that may be where all the fleas are coming from since you have daily care inside of your house. I hope you can find something that works for you!! |
