I (Lexi) had a bad accident today...

I had a bad accident today...

Early this morning I was playing with my Mommy on her bed and I fell off. I landed on my head and back. It hurt so bad I started yelping and crying. I couldn't move my front paws or my head head. Mommy started crying and freaking out, and that made me yelp even more. So my Daddy started holding my still and got me all calmed down while Mommy called my Dr. (she said I had to go to the hospital)

I went to the hospital and they took pictures of my head and back. I have a big bruise on my skull and a concussion. I have to take some yucky pills (anti-inflamitory)and Mommy has to keep a close eye on me for the next 48 hrs.

I feel fine right now and have been running around and I even ate a whole greenie.

Anyway, Mom says I have to get off the puter cuz she has stuff to do. (I have to have adult suppervision to be on the puter)

oh no lexi i'm so sorry you fell. i hope you get to feeling better soon. nala said to tell you that you'll be better in no time b/c she too fell of the bed when she was still a baby and hurt her head. she gives you a great big hug and puppy kisses.

Awwww so sorry to hear about your accident lexi hope you feel better.

p.s lexi if you really try I bet you can get your mommy to give you an extra greenie ;) .

glad to hear you are ok lexi! Scary stuff taking a fall like that I had done it to, and mommy thinks I am going to die, worse yet was when she accidently squashed me with her butt...hehehe it is funny to think of now. I watch out for her now. Hope you gett all better

O Lexi, that sounds so scary!! I don't blame your mommy for being freaked out. But, on the good side, I bet you get tonsof spoiling now! I sure hope your little noggin feels better and Lily sends puppy kisses to help it heal.

Lexi,

I feel for you.. I took a bad fall (15 ft) a week ago.. I am just happy you are ok.. Make sure mommy gives you lots of attention.. My mommy gave me extra hugs to make me feel better!! BTW my mommy sends hugs and prayers too

Thanks everyone for all your kind words, and you are so right about the attention I'm getting. My mommy is driving me nuts, she wont put me down. She just holds me and kisses me, she has even been carring me to my wee-wee pad.

To be serious for a sec, I'm very sorry that happened. To be honest it's part of owning a toy and well...it happens. I am very carefull with Sheila and heights because she isn't.

Lexi's mom, nothing against you at all! It could happen to any of us. I'm so glad to hear Lexi is ok so far. I've only had 1 scare with Sheila and it put my heart in my throat.

I'm sure all will be well and maybe Lexi learnt something about heights. Both of you are in my thoughts.

I wanted to add, I have hard wood floors and this was no regular fall. She hit so hard that she went into shock and couldn't mover her head and her front paws were straight out in front of her, and she was yelping and whaling her whole body. I seriously thought she had broke her neck. It was so scary...

Oh I hope Lexi is okay...that is the scariest thing that could happen to one of our babies....Gracie took a bad fall the day I got her...I almost threw up when she hit the ground...she wouldn't let me pick her up and she was yelping but I think she was just scared...hope lexi is okay keep us posted.

You have a wonderful mommy and she'll take great care of you! These things happen sometimes, but it's ok :)

Those incidents are sooo scary when they happen! I stepped on Hefner's foot to day and he wouldn't walk on it for a while! I felt so bad and was afraid I had broken something in his foot, but he is okay now! Boy, did he get lots of treats from Mommy!

Oh my gosh...I am so sorry to hear about Lexi's accident and glad she will be okay. That had to be so scary for you! Hugs to you and Lexi!

Just reading the post I gasp, I cant imaing being there when that happen. You must have being terrified. Oh please keep us posted. Im glad that so far she seems fine. Good luck. I will keep her in my prayers.

My bed is 26 inches high. On the second night I had Sadie, I took her out for a walk and she limped. Within 1/2 hr. she was back to normal.

I took her to the vet as I had an appt. to have her totally checked out.
He said she had a slight patella problem, and to not let her jump off the bed.
That is hard to do, so even if I get up in the middle of the night, I take her off the bed, because eventually she will get off of it to follow me.

So sorry about this, and let us know how she is doing.

:eek: Lexi!! That made me sick to my stomach just reading it! I hope you are feeling much better today! Hardwood floors are bad landings for Yorkies ... next time, drag yourself a pillow over there to land on!! It would've given me a heart attack ... I'll bet your mommie almost had one too!! ;)

Oh Little Lexy, bless your heart. I am so sorry you had such a bad accident and Schatzie and I pray you will be back to perfect health in no time.
