My previous yorkies never ran, but i never had them fenced. right from babies they stuck by me. These guys are both babies yet and have pretty much always been fenced so I don't trust them. I think obedience class might help with a running problem. Teaching them to stay near you and to stay where you put them, and to come when called. I'm taking mine to classes now, I hope it helps. Most of the ones that have been lost were frightened by something. |
1 Attachment(s) I let Paddy off his lead the second time I went out for a walk with him at 14 weeksold.the first time I tied his harness to Megans harness, she just plods round and he walked just fine with her, then I let him off and he just stayed by her. Maybe its as we had Paddy at 5 1/ 2 weeks and he took Meg on as surrogate mother but hes never bolted! He gets plenty of attention wherever we go anyway so figures he doesnt need to run away! |
Mine don't run (knock on wood - at least they haven't ever tried). Charlie most certainly isn't currently a runner. Heck, he is so scared of being outdoors off the leash (in the backyard) that he glues himself to the backdoor. Only place he runs is straight back into the house! |
