I appreciate the line on the cheap stuff. It is nice to know that you don't have to break the bank account to own our little pups.:) |

I'm so glad you started this thread with all these great ideas.:D BTW, she LOVES the olive oil on her food!!! Can't get enough. |
I want to add something else here. I havent tried the vegetable oil or the olive oil, But I had read some post about the salmon oil and I ordered a bottle and my dogs wont eat their food when I use it. I got alaska salmon oil. Think i'll try the vegetable oil tomorrow as thats what I use most of the time. I dont have any olive oil on hand. Thanks for the tip, just wishing now I hadnt bought the salmon oil. lol |
Thanks for the info! Great post! If I may, I'd like to ask if you have ever tried a comb with rotating teeth? I have been using one (recommended by our groomer) for a long time and can't imaging using anything else! Shhh! I sent one to my YT Gift Exchange Buddy! |

HMMM I'm intrigued too by the rotating teeth comb. EXACTLY what is it????? About the veggie oil...... Most people have it right in their own cupboards right now for cooking and such. Just watch you only use a tad to moisten the kibble. if you use too much by accident don't sweat it. Just cut back and stools will firm back up. After a few trys you can get the hang of pouring it right out of the bottle without measuring:thumbup: |

Yep.. The purpose of the 3 minute miracle and air drying is to give them a break from blowdryers and zapping their coats and giving them soft hair. Doing it this way also lessens matting and knotting.. You can always do a blowdry for special times . |
This thread is awesome (I felt like we were cheating, using some of the stuff that seemed to have bee poo-pooed for Yorkies). We used the hair dryer for her 1st ever baby bath, From then on - air dry. Only problem, by the time she finishes rubbing all the clean off, she's a mess again, not to mention smelly. LOL The hair on her head and legs is silky, her body is cottony and matts all the time. So we just got Aussie detangler and 3-minute miracle (figured we could use if it didn't work on her). Used the detangler 2 days ago - unbelievable! Today, her body hair is still just as soft and unmatted as 2 days ago(and still smells good). Will try 3-min next bath. Even my neighbor asked what happened to her hair, it looked so different. Thanks for all the "alternatives" to use for us "thrifty" people. ;) |
hi I love the post :) I don't know how long you have been useing the aussie. but just a word of advice. The aussie line has a lot of wax in it it is one of the worst for wax. The wax builds up on the hair and skin and drys it out. If it is working for you that is great. I just wanted to let you know.:animal-pa |
HMMM.. I have been using it on the pupsters for about a year with no problems. I do however give them a dishsoap bath once in awhile to get everything out of them so this might be why. I do the dishsoap thing about every 5 weeks. I myself have been using the stuff on my own hair for years and also have no problems. I do however switch up for a day or two once in ahile when my hair doesn't respond as good anymore. Then I go back to using the 3 minute and it is good as new again:) |
I LOVE THIS POST!! THANKS SO MUCH! I have bought stuff (cheaper stuff) and have had people comment on how cute was and almost felt like not answering when asked "where did you get it" - course, when I do answer, they can't believe it and say they are going to get it (whatever it was at the time). Thank you so much for letting everyone know that it is okay to buy at "off the wall" places for your Yorkie babies! Oh, my groomer recommended the Aussie 3 minute deep conditioner years back. She suggested diluting it with water and putting in a spray bottle for a leave in conditioner. I always have used the flea comb (like mentioned - small stell teeth and rubber handle) because I found the rake style brushed DO damage the hair and of course, don't feel too pleasant either. I have never heard of a comb with rotating teeth! That is interesting - would love to see one or find one to see what it looks like and how it works. Again, great post and GOOD FOR YOU! on finding all those sweet goodies that actually work for your furbaby! I LOVE YT!!!! (learn something new everytime I log on). |
LOL..Thanks so much... By the way.. I still say the cutest carrier I ever got was the $12.50 clearance one from Petsmart. I'll put it up againt the $150 designer ones anyday!!!! People are always stopping me saying they LOVE it:p and where can they get one:animal36 |

You know, there for awhile (and probably still) some people say to NEVER use human products on our furbabies - but, when we find something that works and we like, what are we suppose to do...just ignore how well it works? Plus, in my case, when the groomer recommends it, hell ya, I'm going to try it. Again, thanks yorkieangel for posting a great thread! |
