I think we found him Hello To All, I am glad to say that we found (crossing fingers) our future baby and he comes this private breeder (her dad's breeds and she sells). I, well actually my hubby has just one concern and it's that he is a little mellow. The home has two other yorkie which are not his parents, but he was interacting with them and us as well. Is this ok? I am actually ok with it, but my hubby thinks that it's a sign of him being sick. His eyes, nose and fur looked good, he just wasn't acting all crazy with the other yorkies. Please advise. Hope all had a good day :) |
Maybe......he is Just a sweet lovable little guy..... no issues.... |
The puppy should come with a health guarentee. I'm not sure how much time this breeder is going to give you to have him/her vet checked. I would bring the puppy to the vet...If the vet gives him the ok then....Good for you!! |

It seems like they always seem a little calmer before they come home with you. A good vet check (bring a stool sample) will let you know. One concern is not seeing the parents. I have never bought one without at least seeing the Mom and pics of the Dad. It might be exactly what the seller told you, but then again she could be a puppy broker. Any AKC or registration papers coming with the puppy? How much does he weigh at 10 weeks? |

Where are the parents of your puppy now, at least the mother? And, does the puppy come with a health guarantee and shots and vet check? |

She really did not look like a broker, the home looked pretty normal, not full of cages or so. All she had was like a doggy gate for the puppy. No AKC paperwork, is that necessary? She said that he was weighing 3lbs |

The AKC papers are really only important if you plan to breed or show, but if he doesn't come with papers, are you getting him for a good price? |
Puppy mills sometimes use a nice, clean home because you can't visit where the puppies are really born or see what the parents really look like or you wouldn't buy them. Of course, papers aren't necessary, but puppy mills less often have AKC registrations. My estimate on weight - at 3 pounds at 10 weeks, (and usually it's more than they tell you for some reason) is most likely going to be over the standard of 7 pounds, probably more like 8 or 9. I, personally, see red flags, but only you know what you're looking for and the price might be in line with the quality and size. I might go and look, but I also feel that I have enough experience to judge the quality (coat, overbite, underbite, knees, testicles, nose lengths, body proportions, ears, size, etc.). If you have know idea really what to look for, you might not end up getting what you want. |
