On walks Chloe pp's every foot of the walk (probably not that often but it seems so) and Sissy waits till we get home. Both wait for #2 till we get home and Chloe has just realized this past month that it is ok to go #2 in our yard. (at first I had to bring out a disposable pad with me to show her it was ok)Yard or pad, it is so easy with their tootsie roll size poo to just pick it up with a tissue & flush. When I outweight the pads vs outside, I don't feel I made a mistake for our lifestyle, afterall I do NOT want to be the one to go for walks at 10PM in the freezing cold:D
Sounds great! I see why people do that....btw, I was referring to ME when I talked about getting lazy, not anyone else....I need the exercise!!!:D

we go for walks at least 1-2 times @ day. (unless it's raining) :animal36

Woof! Me and mommy went fur a walk 'bout seben dis mornin! He-he! I woke my mommy up and told her I was weddy to go fur a walk!:animal36

My pups bark when they want to go outside to potty. Bear is almost 1 and Lola is nearly 3. I'm a teacher so during the school year, while I am at work, they have free run of the non carpeted areas of our main floor. Of course there are several "piddle pads" available. Bear usually shreds one of them as a gift to me! LOL!

Can't look at sillier then me! Yesterday on the way back, Sissy wanted back out and guess what? Chloe wanted in!!!:confused: Guessing they are liking their new set of wheels...

Ha ha , I get the same exact presents! Ever could the pieces, a lot arne't there?:D That's exactly why I switched to the washable ones in the playpens, the family room one they use while loose, and I am home then, they still get me once in a while:) I think it is Sissy, however, Chloe might tell her to do it!!

I just made the commitment to walk them twice a day, though it has rained everyday since I committed so it is on hold for now. Having 2 now on puppy pads I am finding a little to much, so I am going to get them out in the morning and at night…… when the rain stops.

I feel so neglectful after reading all these posts. I started walking Jack in the spring at a park that I can walk to. After just two times there I didn't want to go back. The park was FULL of poo. Jack kept going up to it I I had to pull him away . I was concerned he would be exposed to something and he would get very ill, so no more park. Now I was wondering if just letting him spend most of the day out in my own yard is enough exercise for him. I could walk him in a housing development across the street from the park. Maybe I'll try that.

We are "street walkers" too, for the same reason. If you call your city's community development, they will arrange to watch and have those "not picking up" ticketed. Even tho, at our park there are many diseases I am sure because of the amount of dog walkers, so from day one, street walkers we became and they get to meet many human neighbors in our neighborhood - they like that best I think.

I walk mine 3 times a day everyday,come rain or shine, about 7am, 6pm and 11pm. They all love their walks and so do i. On a sunday after lunch we go across the fields for miles, one time we went 10 miles, they loved it :) they aren't as incapable as people think :)

No, they aren't incapable at all. We always go twice a day at the least and sometimes more. The exercise is as good for them as it is for us. I believe it makes them healthier for it. I always remember my vet told me a long time ago that it helps their organs work better and that is true. A couch potato doggie will develop the same problems as a couch potato mommy.:D

Exactly, a lot of people i have met, think yorkies are just stay at home, lap dogs, but thats so far from the truth! they need exercise too right! :thumbup:

I like to take Rosie on a 30 minute walk before work and another hour after work, but do not know what to do when the weather gets cold. I didn't start potty training her until spring because during the winter she would just stand in one spot and shiver. What will all of you do? Is there a sweater or coat that you can recommend that can keep her warm? I really want to try to keep up our walks.

Unfortunatley I live way out in the country and have no where to walk my kids! Its either the road - nope, or a dirt road - which I won't do by myself cuz I'm too chicken!

I actually took mine both to the mail box at the end of my drive way. My mailbox is probably about 60 feet or so from my house. i have a circle drive and its at one end of it. maggie did real good considering it was only her 2nd time to be on a leash. Its just been too hot to take her out like that. Kizzy use to always go with me to get the mail. Now I leave them in the fence while I go. When it cools down a little more here i'm gonna take maggie out more often. I use to take kizzy out for walks so many times a day it wasnt funny mainly cause she was little, we had no fenced in yard and I had to teach her and now its so easy to just leave them inside the fence while I go. Since my yard is fenced maggies never had a harness on but that one time I took her out on the leash. Since they are in the fence now they dont wear them, so I did go yesterday and get maggie a little collar and a tag with our name and address and phone # on it and I put kizzys on her too , just in case they ever get out of the fence. I just dont like the idea of them getting out with no kind of identification on them. But If their going for a walk on a leash always use harnesses.
