Hello Brownies Mum, I joined this site on the 17th of this month, and since have learned so much. I feel as if I have been a member for ages. everyone is so friendly and supportive.
I am a Brit who has lived in the States for 40 years, I was a GI bride. We now live in a lakeside town in southwest Missouri. I own a Gift Gallery.
Getting Jack was a lifelong dream, my Aunt in England had a Yorkie names Bouncer when I was a child, and I always wanted one. I have had a yorkie/poo a yorkie/chis, and a yorkie/s**tzi , and now for my 60th birthday I treated myself to my dream.
His name is Prince Union Jack, and he is everything I always dreamed of in a friend and companion. He greets all of my customers and thinks he owns the joint.
Thank you for being interested in us "newbies".

browniesmom622 04-25-2005 10:40 AM

Hello from a Newbie!!!!

Hi!! Thanks for caring about us newbies to the board!!! My name is Jane and my two teenage daughters (age 15 and 17) live in Central Pennsylvania. My husband decided after 19 years of marriage that he would rather live alone so he left us about 6 months ago. The day he left my daughters made themselves feel better by looking up puppies on the internet. You see, he doesn't care for animals much as he has always had severe allergies to them so we were never able to have a pet. Soooo . . . I promised the girls a yorkie as soon as we get a little on our feet. Well, our yorkie will be ready to pick up at the end of May. Her name is Gia. I haven't come up with a registration name yet. Also the girls don't know that I have found her - I am surprising them!!!!!!

I love this board, it is so informative and supportive. I will post pictures as soon as I get some.

Thanks for caring, Jane

browniesmom622 04-25-2005 11:06 AM

luvyorkiestoo 04-25-2005 11:10 AM

Nice to "meet" everyone!

Hey there Browniesmom
I keep forgetting that I 'm a newbie too!!! I had been just a lurker for awhile and now you can barely pry me off
I really have enjoyed being aprt of this forum ,It has given me laughs when I needed them , and just a great place to relax when it seems my world is on overload. I enjoy hearing about everyones yorkies and lives, it has actually enriched mine .
I now know what to look for in a breeder and have some much information to keep for the arrival of my little yorkie one day soon ( crossing my fingers) heehee :)
I feel I can say I have been eduacted here..I too was one of the ones who used the term" Teacup" ,just because it sounds so cute.. I always heard that being used for poodles ,so I never thought anything about it for a yorkie or any small breed dog. NOW on the other hand I know that that term could be used as just a selling tactic or for hype .So Yorkie Talk is a great place for meeting other yorkie lovers ..but it is actually a great resource for any person looking to learn about having a toy breed dog.
Oops did I ramble again.. ;)

Imma Newbie!!

Hello everyone,
I joined YorkieTalk 2 days ago and have learned so much more here about yorkies than in several books!!! I haven't found my perfect puppy yet, but I hope I will soon.

I am currently in Tallahassee and will be graduating this weekend!!! GO NOLES!!! In June my fiance and I are moving to Pennsylvania. I've been pretty busy with finals and planning the wedding (Sept. 3rd) but never to busy to look for puppies!!! Hopefully I will be able to post pics of my own yorkie soon.

I'm the same way.. I'm a newbie with a ton of posts already! It's easy to get addicted to this forum!

bchgirl 04-25-2005 11:30 AM

Ima newbie

I found this site a perhaps a month and a half ago. I did plenty of reading before we got our yorkie. Everyone here is so nice and helpful. I live in Virginia Beach, hence my "name", and in my mid forties. I have one daughter (12), hubby, 3 cats, and a bunny. I love my animals but gotta admit none have stolen my heart as quickly as this tiny bundle of love, Trace.

USMARINEWIFE 04-25-2005 11:40 AM

I'm still a newbie too!! I joined this site this month.

My name is Melanie, I am nineteen years old... I'll be twenty this December 1st. My husband is Chris, he's twenty years old, and will be twenty-one on December 23rd. My husband is in the US Marines...which most of you already know by my username :)

We live in Yuma, Arizona... and we've been here since December of last year. We don't know ANYONE out here yet... which makes it kinda hard.

I was in WV... but I have lived all over the US... my dad works for Ford Motor Company, so we moved around a lot through out my life.

And....right now, I am saving up money so I can get a yorkie! :) And I am very, very excited.... I am driving my husband crazy cause it's all I wanna talk about anymore.... that and YT!! LOL But I think he's starting to get use to me being on here all the time... He said at least I will know a lot about yorkies before I get one for myself! :)

Well... that's just a little about myself!

But I am very glad I found this site, because ALL of you on here are very wise and offer excellent advice about everything I need to know!! I am very excited to let you guys know all about my yorkie and post pics when I get her!

Melanie

Same her. I joined first of April and already a senior. I absolutely love this site.
We had a duel b-day party this weekend and all I talked about was YorkieTalk.

I tell my husband that it is YT's fault that I wanted another for my b-day(hehehe)

Welcome to all you newbies! I hope you all enjoy this place as much as I do

Howdy neighbor!
I live in Richmond.....well out skirts.
My best friend lives in VA Beach. We did before we moved here.
I use to work at General Foam Plastics in the old industrial park off of Princess Anne.

I do miss VA Beach.
I heard that you guys have a hugh pet wearhouse there. I am so jealous. I have to make a trip. I think its called cuddle something. Have you been? If so how is it?

Rem&Silkmom 04-25-2005 11:58 AM

Hello All

I'm a newbie...my name is Chris and I live in Chesapeake, Va. Iam owned by two yorkies one named Remmy. I have had Remmy since he was a wee pup. He will be three Oct. 27th. I just got a yorkie girl named Silk from a breeder in NC. Silk will be two on Oct 2nd of this year. I really enjoy coming to this site...very informative and I love the layout. It helps to know that there are other people who can give advice on training or just feel your pain. lol :D Silk I did not get as a puppy so it has been very different from having Remmy. Plus she is a girl with a very different personality. She has quickly bonded with me and she is soooo sweet. I have a lot going on with these two tying to get them acquainted so it is so wonderful to be able to come here and share. :)

bchgirl 04-25-2005 12:00 PM

well, howdy back at cha

I know where General Foam is located. Years ago, my office was located fairly close by there. I can't help you with the pet's warehouse, I have to google it and see what I can come up with.

Zoey 04-25-2005 12:05 PM

I'm new, too!

I came across this site while looking for advice online about do-it-yourself yorkie cuts, and now I find myself coming online to read new posts whenever I have a free moment! I love being able to read posts from other fellow yorkie-lovers!

I'm a 27 year old pediatrician in training, and I got my little sweetie Zoey in September of 02. She'll be 3 years old on July 29th. You all have been very kind to help me with questions I've had. I love the posts about the silly things your dogs do, and I love peeking at everyone's pictures in the picture gallery. I'm so glad I finally figured out how to post pictures, too! :)

browniesmom622 04-25-2005 12:11 PM

wow so many posts already WELCOME everyone :D im so happpy your here !!!!!!!!!!!

hockeymom 04-25-2005 12:16 PM

I have been on this site now for about a month, and have really enjoyed reading all the post. It is like having a whole new group of friends. As soon as I get to work everyday, I get on this site and see what is new.

DomLee 04-25-2005 12:24 PM

Well, since I'm a relative newbie, I will introduce myself.

My name is Dominic. When I met my girlfriend, she had "her" Yorkie. Needless to say, I've made "her" Yorkie become "our" Yorkie. I love the little guy!

We live in Southern California, in the South Pasadena area. But I frequently am in the Redondo Beach area. Currently a corporate paperpusher at an investment firm, but am also tinkering w/ the entertainment industry (screen writing, acting, producing, etc.) and the automotive industry.

Thanks for all the wonderful advice.

Dom

Yorkie Owned 04-25-2005 12:26 PM

another newbie

I'm also a newbie, joined a few weeks ago- before that I was a lurker for several weeks. I stumbled across this site by accident and have been hooked ever since! I was immediately hooked to this breed as well. There is so much information here- I wish I had known about this forum when I got my first yorkie a little over a year and a half ago.
I have a husband, 3 teenages (18, 15 & 14) and 4 dogs. (they're small, they don't take up a lot of room... )
I love reading the forum during the day when I am away from my fur-babies. It makes me feel better to read about everyone else's sweeties and I don't miss mine as much. This site gets me through until I get home to be with my babies! :p
Not to mention I learn something new every day!

diesel's mommy 04-26-2005 11:37 AM

:) Hello All

I am a newbie. I joined earlier this month. I actually had to check my status to see if I was considered a newbie because I am constantly on this site during my free time trying to learn more about the breed though I rarely post. I have learned so much from this site.
I have a 5 1/2 month old yorkie named Diesel. He is so spoiled. Since being on this site I have learned that Diesel is allergic to his food (Eukanuba small bites puppy food) and learned the best kinds of shampoo and conditioner to use for his hair.
I am 22 years old and orginally from N. Alabama. Diesel and I live in Auburn Alabama. I am a senior and will be graduating in two weeks. We will be relocating to South Florida or Atlanta, GA in July. Wish us luck!!
In the future I will make a conscious effort to reply to posts instead of just reading them and using the site for research. I will also try to figure out how to add my babies picture also.

fourdez 04-26-2005 11:40 AM

Hello Diesel's Mom. Welcome and congratulations on your upcoming graduation.

fourdez 04-26-2005 11:44 AM

A big welcome to DomLee and Yorkie Owned.

myguyalex 04-26-2005 11:45 AM

A Fairly New Newbie...

I joined during the month of April. My name is Beth and my baby is Alex. He will be 5 years on June 9th. He is 4 pounds. I am still going to school. I am a Junior at Mount Mary College here in Wisconsin. I am majoring in education. Plus, I work for a technlogy company. Alex is my first little dog. I grew up showing Golden Retrievers. Alex has actually grown-up with three Goldens. When he was a pup it was scary at times. My parents also have a Yorkapoo. Anyways, that is my story. I wish that this board was around when I got Alex. It would have been real helpful when there was problems. :)

iheartyorkies 04-26-2005 11:47 AM

Hey everyone. We're always glad to have new member join the forum. We love to see pix, get to know you, and share questions and stories. My Yorkie is Bo and he is six months old and was neutered today. I go to pick him up in about 15 minutes, but I already checked with the vet and they said he was doing fine. I'll have to baby him tonight. I also have an 8 year old Schnauzer named Woody. Woody and Bo are great buddies and play all the time. That's my story in a nutshell. Glad to have you here on YT. Brownie's Mom always starts great threads!

fourdez 04-26-2005 11:47 AM
