haha that sounds like Adina and my chihuahua they do that all the time!!! |
Ginger does that too! she'll take one or two pieces.. run under the bed eat them and run back take some more and run back under the bed.. Oreo Started copying her the first week we got Ginger. Before he used to pick one or two pieces from his bowl.. move a few feet away and eat it.. and then go back.. :p so cute, the things they do. |
My poodle used to do that (take one piece at a time to the rug) but Tatum just likes to make a mess! What she does is paw at the bowl until it tips over enough to dump some food out. Only then will she eat it - off of the floor. She's going to be really disappointed when we move into the new house. I already have new bowls there - they are ceramic and have the wider bottom that she can't tip over as easy. But they also aren't as deep - I think she tips the food out because she doesn't want to stick her nose down into the bottom. The other day she did that to her food bowl and it flipped completely over and only 3 little pieces of food escaped - the rest of it was trapped under the bowl. My husband said the look on her face was priceless! Like "what the heck do I do NOW??"! And for those of you with new puppies.... yes, we had to throw out little pieces of food one at a time for her to chase just to get her to eat. It had to be a game for a while but she finally got to where she'd eat out of the bowl. All the experts say a dog WILL NOT starve themselves. They will eventually eat it if it's available. They just like to make us think they're helpless! ;) |
Reese does the same thing. She not only does it with dry food however but also the chunky meat with the gravy sauce. This morning I noticed she has dragged it into the wicker crate where I keep my bath towels, in my bathroom. Gross! |

Oh my God! I thought my little girl, Desi, was the only one that did this. I often think she is going to get exhausted just trying to eat.. back and forth with one little kibble at a time. She takes it back to her bed to eat it.. At least fill your mouth..no.. it has to be one at a time. |
Chai prefers to eat off the floor and if she is not the only one eating she will take a piece and go to her rug to eat it. If she is not really hungry but just snacking she will do the play theing where she tosses it up and goes after it! Buddha used to only eat if he was fed out of your hand or off a fork! Luckily, we broke that habit! |
Cordelia will take her food to her bed. She is so crazy. Yet when she eats the cat food she just sits there like a little piggy. :p |
Esme does this too. She takes her mouth full of food the the rug. It's really funny! |
Gidget does this, but not Leila. She stands at the bowl and wolfs it down! |
Misti does the same darn thing. Takes it to the carpet, guess she thinks she;s to high and mighty to eat on the hard wood floor in the kitchen. :D |
My Zoie gets her mouth full and takes it to the carpet and drops it and eats one kibble at a time until its gone and goes back for another mouthfull.. We happened to catch her with a mouthful when my husband offered a piece of hotdog or something and she spit the mouthful of food out.. It litterally sprayed out with pressure.. it was so funny to watch. |
Alex is such a picky eater. He will either take one piece to a spot, eat it and then go back for another one. Everyone refers to him as a humming bird when he does this. Plus, he has little games with his food. He generally will only eat when I am around. He likes it when I throw his food or roll it like a bowling ball. Then he runs and gets it and eats it. Or he will eat it out of hand. He is soooo spoiled. He gets what he wants otherwise I am afraid he won't eat and thats not good. He is too small... |
