I just wanted to say that everyone on this site should be very proud of themselves.

I've been posting a long time on Yorkie forums...I remember when this site had less than 10 people :rolleyes: and in the time I've been a member here - I think I've pretty much seen 'it all'....And my opinion hasn't changed one bit -this site ROCKS.

With the diverse and many many members here - I just want to say that in times of need....you ALL jump in with your hearts. I was so proud of the outpouring of compassion for Cindy - who just lost little Madda....and the Missing Josie. You all were just awesome.

Every once in a while - we see someone say this site is known for being judgemental (and a few other negative things) - I just want to yell to those people that they don't have a CLUE as to what this site is about. They need to stick around and see what REALLY goes on here and that includes BEHIND the scenes - There are far more positive things shared here than there are negative. Those are few and far between.

This site is way more than a few people - it's a whole LOT of caring people who really do love yorkies and care about their fellow members.

I've met some awesome people here and hope everyone has the same positive experience I've had for these last few years. Some people know how sick my husband is - and there are some days I just want to crawl into a hole and cry - but I can come on here ...read a few threads or look at cute pictures - and I forget all about my problems for a while.

Anyway - I just had to say that.

And.....There is to be NO laughing at my hokey post - :p :p :p

I just had to say that today. I'm not usually so sentimental - but it's been a bad week - and thanks to YT - I did manage to get some serious smiles in.....especially after the Josie Thread :D :D :D :D

Great post, Ms. Sensitive! :) I agree with everything you said. Even though a lot of the names and faces change, YTers always seem to look out for each other.

I agree 100%. I've been a member or 1 1/2 years and the site has grown. I can count on YT to make me smile, let me vent, and just plain be there for me. YT is my second family!!

LOL !!! You ALWAYS make me laugh - :D and I know you have firsthand experience with the compassion of Yt members ....Many new people don't know about the surprise you received back when your little Jack had his surgery. :) That's just what I'm talking about when I posted this. That was another time I was very proud of the people on here....and Michelle - you were a big part of that !

I have not been on this board long. I have been on other boards and the compassion that is found here is second to none!

That was a great post V! And a bigger than huge thank you to you!! You are so kind, you have helped out so many people here on YT...myself included. I don't know anything about your personal life but do pray for the best for you.

I totally agree with you. A while ago when I was rehoming Parker I got some very negative comments and some harsh words from a few people. I almost left this site and I would have regreted it sooooo much. There are by far more great people on here than there are a few who are not so great. I had an out pouring of pm telling me not to go and that just to ignor a few people. There is so much love and compassion here on this site. If someone is in need we are all here for them. How good that makes a person feel!!!! Great post!:) :) :)

Aw you are so sweet and you go above and beyond to help everyone. I have found myself smiling at many of your posts. I agree I love it when everyone comes together when someone loses their dog or their dog is sick. You really feel an outpouring of emotions. I think if all posters would give this board a chance they would see the good outweighs the bad.

I don't post often but I read the forum every single day. I learnt more here since I joined than from many books I bought.
Sometimes I cry, sometimes I laugh but most of the time I get educated. At first I thought that there is a "tight circle" of people here who know each other and completely ignore me when I asked for help. Well, I got over it and stopped asking. I also changed my mind after receiving some PMs offering to help me.
YT is a part of my life now and I depend on it every day. It's a wonderful site and it feels like a family now.

OH GOOD !! that's really why I posted - sometimes new members CAN get lost in the forum ...I don't think anyone intentionally ignores anyone here - there's just so many threads and the site moves so quick - it's easy to be overlooked.

The same goes to people who may have received some replies they took offense to - ALL IN ALL - people here are nice - we all have different styles & different ways of saying things...you just have to shake it off and keep posting. For every few posts that may be negative - there's hundreds more that are positive.

Great post Villette! You are one big reason this is such a great place. You are always the first to offer help and your posts are always so kind. I know that you didn't post this for that reason but you are the best. I received some great support through Cali's early months when every other week she was sick, I knew I could come on YT and share my concerns and get support. I have made a very special friendship through YT and met for the first time last week a fellow YT member who I hope we can get togetherwith on a regular basis.

I agree with Patti , Villette is one of the reasons this place rocks... I am became a member when I got Gucci, two years ago. I felt it was clickish at the begining not knowing most.. But Villette always makes people feel welcome... This has been a terrible week with Madda's passing , Josie missing and Gucci being diagnosed with liver shunt. But through it all I found comfort here.. I did leave an thank you post in the sick and injured post, but no one saw it...lol Anyway I want to thank you all for being there and special thanks to Kim and Patti for making me understand this disease better and knowing that there is hope and the babies can have a good qualility of life afterall.Vilette I will send the rest of the pictures on Monday.. Thank You!

You guys are too nice - I just had to apologise to someone for my poor choice of words in a post - I'm HOPING I never hurt anyones feelings ...and she was gracious enough to accept my apololgy -

and as far as the clickish feelings - this site is really too big to have clicks !! There are some people that post way more than others - (not me of course) but I think that's why people feel that way. Once they stay...I think they come to know everyone is the same - we are all here for the same reasons and we're all equal.

but all in all - I know we all make this site what it is. I never dreamed before the internet that I would get a chance to 'meet' so many really cool people....and just think - we can be as obsessive as we want to be about our yorkies - and EVERYONE understands LOL !! Heck - it's even encouraged !! :D :D

LOL It really was wasn't it ? :p :p - it was a sappy week for me ...but I really was awed by the events this week here - we went from so sad over Madda - to cheering on a little yorkie who needed to be returned to her home - and let me tell you - The YT Mafia is def someone I wouldn't want to cross !:D

What a great thread! Villette, I have to agree, that you are one of the big reasons YT is so great! You can always be counted on for a kind word, and do have a way of making everyone feel like they belong.

Yorkietalk is the first and only discussion board I have ever been a member of. It is nice to have a place to obsess over Ginger, and to be a part of a community that truly cares about each other and especially about each others furbabies.

I've met some great people through YT who live in my area, but who I never would have met otherwise! I've gotten excellent advice, and found others who would happily discuss the tiniest details about grooming, or feeding, or otherwise caring for these wonderful little dogs.

I enjoy the pictures and funny stories, and become emotionally involved in both the tragedies and happy endings. If you had told me this was possible on a message board prior to my stumbling across YT, I would have said that you were "nuts".

Well, maybe I'm the one who's "nuts" (for yt), for even on vacation, I walked a block each day, lugging my laptop, so that I could "check in" on YT....

I have to agree...I have never been a member of site like this one...I havent posted in months...And not because I did not want to...i have just been so busy with work...Now that I am in crisis mode with Sammi :( I needed you guys and there you all were! Offering prayers, support, even phone calls...You are all a great group of kind hearted, wonderful people and for that I thank you!

I have only been here a short time and already I feel "at home".

As far as being a judgemental site - OMG, go out there on the Web and take a look at some of the pet websites! They are downright viscious!

I think Yorkietalk is a nice switch from the others. I feel comfortable discussing my "large" yorkie and "semi-large" maltese......other places I would be blasted!

Looking forward to spending alot more time here.

Every word of your post is so true! I couldn't believe the support when my Chloe was missing! Not only was everyone so concerned in the thread, but the phone calls, emails and pm's I received were wonderful! And even from people I didn't really know yet. I have made some wonderful friends here.:ghug:

I love being a part of this board, there is always something to laugh about, cry about and think about. It is a wonderful place to *escape* some of the real life drama. I recently lost someone I cared about and it has been really nice to come look at pictures and read funny posts when I need a break from what is going on!!

OH MY! You are emotionally draining me - I swear I have no more tears to shed!

Life caught up to me in the last couple of days and I am only just getting caught up on all that has happened to everyone. I am stunned and saddened at the loss of Madda - frightened for Gucci - and who the heck knows what range of emotions I feel after trying to get through all of the posts on Josie (except sheer relief that she is safely home!)

I need to go finish painting my daughter's room right now and I haven't time to put my two cents in and most more but I will! (Time is of the utmost importance now because..... Tuesday I will be adding a new family member!)

I continue to be blown away by the compassion, knowledge and laughter on this board.

I totally agree also. I am a member of 2 other Maltese sites, but nothing compares to this one. I'm glad Piper is a Morkie, or I never would have looked for a Yorkie site. She is so much different than her Maltese sister. She definitely leans towards the Yorkie attitude & behavior.

I have only been here a little while, I stumbled across this site before i picked dixie up, when i was looking for info on care of yorkies. We had a dalmatian (he was 12 when he passed, we got him at 6 months) that had epilepsy and was on meds for years with no seizures, till he had the worst seizure out of the blue i ever saw, the vet suggested we put him to sleep, that they willonly get worse :( we had him put to sleep, that was many years ago and very hard to do. we couldnt let him live with seizures again. we were a no dog house for many years. and thought it is time to add to our family, we needed a new pet to love and spoil. I learned so much already, I ve done alot of crying this week reading threads, especially the r.i.p. section madda :( :(junebug :( phoebe :( and all the others who passed
and josie being lost .
weather it be learning, crying, and laughing, this site is great no matter what anyone says about it, I would just ignore those people who dont really know what goes on here, the feelings, the help, the info. I feel like i have a ton of new friends who dont even know me....yet!
every spare moment i am here reading the threads. so much to read and learn.
i love it here. you all make it a great place to spend my free time.

Vee, this thread is perfect! I agree with you wholeheartedly. There have been times in the past that I had gotten discouraged and thought about leaving but I'm so glad that I stayed. I've gotten to know a great many people and I don't know what I'd do without YT.:thumbup:

completely agree with you hunny:) i was shocked to see how many posted in my thread about it being a year since sasha died, people taking the time to reply about a dog they never knew and sending love to someone they have never met and sheding tears for my baby girl. and you hunny with what your going through you still manage to come on here and help someone else and be there for them, you are a special lady:) oh and even though i cant spell everyone still seems to understand what im saying lol which is another thing i love about this site:D
