Getting a 2nd yorkie baby
 
Hi, I will be picking up my new baby on thursday. I can hardly wait. I already cant sleep lol
but i have a question....My vet had told me when i got Dixie not to have her around other dogs till she had all her shots ( which she does now) so when i bring #2 home, do i have to keep them apart till he has all his shots? or is it ok for them to be together since she has had all hers?
I was searching for a thread like this and didnt find one, sorry if it is a repeat.

I think it will be fine as long as she has had all of her shots, the only thing is take him to get a vet check asap just to make sure that he dont have any thing to give her (exp: worms, fleas or cold). Just to be on the safe side I would Get the vets good bill of health first. :) And good luck with your new little guy,, is it a boy? any names yet? any pictures?:D :rolleyes:

I just got Maggie a couple weeks ago. My dr didnt say anything about it when I took her for her health ck. I havent tried to keep them apart. They play together all the time and they seem fine. Kizzy had all her shots and Maggie got her first one the day I got her.

He is SOOOOO cute!!!!! But he looks onery :D like he's just ready to pounce on something and give is a good thrashing. I bet he will be a bundle of JOY!

How long did it take for your 1st furbaby to get used to (along) with the 2nd one...I am a little worried about this. Sadie is 2 1/2 yrs old and is the Queen...I mean spoiled rotten (like you all don't spoil yours!!)..Any info would be greatly appreciated!

He is precious!:) You just want to be aware that there are a few diseases that a baby can bring home that your doggie can catch. If the breeder is spotless, you shouldn't have to worry about it. Have fun!:D

Awww cute baby pics!! I am on the hunt for another yorkie..not having too much luck right now in my area...but at least I get to look forward to your new arrivals!! So many of you are getting new babies..how exciting!!!!

What a precious picture. I think you only have to keep him away from other dogs that may not have had all their shots.

Two Yorkies?
 
I have a 4 month old Yorkie baby... and I already think I need another so he can have a buddy!!! But I am hearing from the trainer at puppy class that when you get two puppies... they bond to each other and not so much with their owners! She also thinks you should have one trained before getting a second. I am thinking that potty training two is as easy as potty training one. I am not really working now so I have the tme for one or two yorkies... What do you guys think?

well Dixie is 4 months old and we are potty training..I am far from being an expert but I would think its easier to potty train 2 at the same time rather than train 1 then get another that goes on the floor and maybe makes the 1st one go on the floor again thinking it is ok.....and I also think if both get their own individual love and pampering sessions it should be ok.
I would rather do the potty training at the same time, them maybe have the 1st one go backwards..just my opinion.
good luck in your decision to get a 2nd...it didnt take me long to say yes when hubby said he would get me another one lol I was thrilled. These little ones are so adorable and cute and funny etc i could go on....I wish I had got one years ago...look at all I missed for so long.
