Can anyone PLEASE HELP ME?????? http://www.shooterdog.com/alexfaq3.htm#POOP Has anyone been to this link before. I saw kacee pick up kizzys old poop of the ground today and when I first got her she ate some of her poop before I could grab her up. But I havent seen her do it anymore. But today she picked up some of kizzys old poop and brought it to another spot in the yard like she was gonna eat it and I grabbed her up real quick. She is also pooping in her crate. It is the smallest crate I've seen so I dont know how to stop this either. Kizzy has never done either of these things. But I havent seen kacee eating her own anymore and she dont like to be in the cage with it but she only screams and hollers about it after shes done it to get out. They both sleep at the head of my bed in a carrier. Kacee's is the smallest i've seen and she sleeps right by my bed, then Kizzy is on the other side of her in her big soft crate. But Kizzy has never dont any of this and Kizzy is the one that wakes me up in the morning. Kacee will have poo in her bed and will usually be rooted up to the front of it with poo behind her and dont make any noise until she hears me up letting kizzy out. So any ideas would be helpful. The link says to put meat tenderizer on their food and they wont eat poop. But I dont know if it would cause other problems for their intestines or stomach. She seems to think it ok but I've never heard of this person before. Wondering if anybody has and if she gives good advice. long post but I need help on both subjects maybe. I know i do on the pooping in bed thing and I'm really watching kacee about eating poo but I've never seen her do it but twice when I first got her until today when she found kizzys old poop and I think she was gonna eat it. I know this is gross sounding but even more gross to see it. please help me. |
I dont know why they eat pooh, Lillie is almost 5mon and she still is doing it, they say they grow out of it so I sure hope she does. All you can do is remove the pooh as soon as you see it! As far as her poohinh her her crate, she is a puppy and just cant hold it like a grown dog can, hopefully she will grow out of that also! |
i think petedge.com or jefferspet.com may have something you can feed them to make them stop poop munching |
I have read on a few sites about putting meat tenderizing in their food to stop them from eating poop. Sissy only ate her own when she was younger, so this is a new one for me. |
James eats his poop I just try and get it before he does:p Im glad he is not the only one |
I've heard to try meat tenderizer or pineapple juice in their food to make them stop eating their poo, but I've never had to try it...thank goodness! |
Gross A Mundo  I CAN TELL YOU FROM EXPERIENCE THAT IT DOES NOT GO AWAY WITH AGE. WE HAVE AN OLD BRUSSELS GRIFFON THAT WE BATTLED IT WITH FOR YEARS. UNTIL......WE HEARD A STORY FROM AN OLD TIMEY BREEDER THAT WORKED FOR US. WE TRIED ALL KINDS OF TREATMENTS..MEAT TENDERIZER...IT MADE HER THROW UP FOR HOURS..(LIKE EATING POOP SHOULDNT) AND THEN GAVE HER THE RUNS....ALL THE TREATMENTS WERE MONEY DOWN THE DRAIN..(OR THE HATCH YOU COULD SAY) UNTIL THIS LADY TOLD US THAT IF YOU GIVE THEM ANISE SEED THEY WILL STOP WITHIN TWO WEEKS,,BUT THAT YOU HAVE TO BE DILIGENT. FIND A TREAT THAT THEY WILL EAT WITHOUT QUESTION. WE WOULD GIVE OUR GRIFFY A BALL OF CANNED DOG FOOD ..THEN ONE WITH THE ANISE SEED AND THEN ANOTHER WITHOUT....THERE IS SOMEWAY THAT THE ANISE MAKES THE YUCKY TASTE YUCKIER, AND SHE STOPPED AFTER YEARS OF IT......IT DID TAKE TWO WEEKS, AND I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND DOING ANYTHING INCLUDING OVER THE COUNTER TREATMENTS WITHOUT FIRST CONSULTING YOUR VETRINARIAN , BUT I AM :wavey: :wavey: HERE TO TELL YOU IT SURE WORKED FOR HER..AND WITH TWO YOU WOULD HAVE TO TREAT BOTH AT THE SAME TIME I WOULD THINK.GOOD LUCK, I KNOW IT IS A VERY DISTRESSING HABIT FOR THE OWNERS |
Nikko is a year and a half old and I am still waiting for him to grow out of this gross behavior. I have tried Deter, these pills I bought at the pet store and they did nothing. I try to get to it before he does but sometimes I don't and he gobbles it up. It so gross!! I too am looking for ideas on how to stop it but for anyone with this problem, don't buy Deter. Save your money because it doesn't work. |

As far as pooping in her crate, if she would holler I dont mind running her outside even at 4 am if i have to. But she dont holler of if she does I dont hear her and I am a heavy sleeper but hubby would wake me if she hollered. Neither of them even act like anybody here is up when hubby gets up and gets ready to go to work. They dont get up until they decide its time. lol Im glad tho, if kacee just would wait to go potty. |
I know how to cure the pooping in the crate. Even though it is the smallest crate you can find, it is obvious that it is still just too big since she'll poop in the back and lay in the front. What you need to do is put some books, or a box, or some tupperware in the back of the crate to literally make it half the size. Only give her enough space to lay down. Make it so small that there is no space that she doesn't touch when she lays down. If you do this, she won't poop in there bc she will not want to lay in it. I promise it works. It worked for Hobbs and he peed AND pooped in his crate  |

As for eating poop, try cleaning it up out of the yard daily so that she can't find any to eat. As for pooping in her crate, what if you tried getting up and taking her out when your hubby is getting up for work...or, maybe have hubby take her out before he leaves. Maybe that would help. |
