| My first post! Just got a new Yorkie to befriend our 4 year old Yorkie Hello All! My wife and I have a four year old yorkie named Giovanni. He is neutered and weighs about 10 lbs. We just purchased a new girl yorkie and named her Bella. She is eight weeks old and weighs 1 lb, 3 oz. We're seeking help because Giovanni is completely terrified of Bella and she wants to play with him. She whines is when she sees Giovanni because she wants to play with him and he runs and hides from her. a He is acting very indifferent to my wife and I ever since we brought the new puppy home. He is spending a lot of time hiding from us. He won't even look at us while we're spending time with Bella. Any tips for us? I just want the dogs to get a long as soon as possible. |

BANNED FOR NOT MAILING PRODUCTS PURCHASED | Hello and welcome to YT!!! Congrats on your new puppy Bella! how long have you had her? In my opinion and I don't have 2 yorkies, but I would think he just needs time to adapt to her. I would think he will come around with some time, you have to understand, he is use to being head dog and now you bring in this new pup and he wants to know why on earth she is here in his home with his mommy and daddy! I would think he will come around, just re-assure him that you and your wife still love him and give him some quality time with you one on one! Good luck to you and the new baby! |

| I agree. Give him time. Make sure he knows that he hasn't lost his place. Welcome to YT!

| I got Kacee last friday so kizzy would have a sister. But kizzy is a big 8 lb 6 month old and kacee is a 1 1/4 lb, 9 week old. If you go look at the picture I just posted yu can see how its working for us with them. At first kizzy would only walk around, sniff her, lay down and stare at her like she wondered what it was. Next thing I knew they were running, chasing each other and acting like they had been together all their lives. I know Kizzy wasnt here as long before kacee like yours was but I bet in no time at all, yours will be the same way. Actually Kizzy has still been held more by us (especially my husband) than kacee has by either of us. Kizzy has shown a little jealousy of Kacee but in a strange way. She dont run from us and she dont try to hurt kacee. They play good, she just seems like she wants to be babied more than she did. so goodluck to you with your 2 but they will probably have lots of fun together before long. Just dont make more over the new one now than you do the 4 yr old. this is just my opinion because its working good for me. I've never had 2 at the same time so its all new to me.

| Hi, We have an almost two year old named Gracie and have just recently added to our family with a now 4 month old named Abbie. Gracie is also terrified of Abbie and will hide from her. She will only approach her is she is being held still, she seems to be afraid of her fast movements. Is your new puppy running or charging at Giovanni, Abbie does this to Gracie and she is so afraid of it. I am hoping im time this will get better in the mean time I have hired a trainer to help with the problem, unfortunatley I have to wait until the 25th for the session. I am looking foward to hearing the advice that you get here! Good Luck
