| Color of your dogs' gums ? I was just checking out Peanut's teeth and I noticed that in certain areas of his mouth, his gum is black instead of pink! Such as the gum that lies directly underneath his tongue... Does the same go for your yorkies..? Peggy |

| Oops, you just got me into trouble, lol. Gypsy was sleeping in my lap and I decided that I needed to check to see what colour the inside of her mouth was, needless to say she wasn't impressed, hehe. Her gums go from quite pink to dark the farther back in her mouth you look, also the roof of her mouth is black. She's my first yorkie so I don't know if that's common or not.

| I just checked both Spike and Sugar. Yes, they are both thrilled! Nothing like being woken up to have your mouth pried open. Spike' gums are quite pink and the roof of his mouth is black. Sugar's gums are mostly pink but have some darker areas. His roof is also black.

| I noticed the palate of my dogs being black and pink when they yawn. I guess it's a normal thing for the breed!

| It's just normal pigmentation. The same thing as in humans from different ethnic backgrounds. Jessica Last edited by UTDentalHYG2006; 08-06-2006 at 01:07 PM. |

| I checked this out....Sissy's gums are mostly pink, but there are a few darker spots particularly close to the back. The roof of her mouth is dark as is under her tongue. She was none too happy with this inspection!!
