| Petsmart??? Petco????`Trustworthy??? I have a serious question regarding petsmart, I am a military wife therefore we travel alot and were in South Korea recently, this is where I got my precious Tinkerbell. We are awating for my husband to get orders and therefore decided to visit my mom in Idaho. She is about a 25 minute drive from Boise. The problem is that I dont know where to take Tinkerbell to get her grooming, I am scared to take her to someone where they will cut her or drop her, last time I took her to the petsmart in Boise it seemed kinda dirty and there was pee and poop on the floor and I just carried her. In Korea I already had a lady that groomed her, but what do you all think ?? should I take her to one of these larger stores or should I look for a smaller shop?? I tried to trim her body just because it was soooo hot here and poor little Tinkerbell was always so hot, but now is her face and ears that need help desperatly. Help please

| i've had good experiences at petco. it honestly depends from store to store. if you dont feel good about that one, yes try somewhere else. and to make you more comfortable about taking her, stay and watch

| Thanks for all of your help and advice, I hope someone near Boise reads this and can help me find Tinkerbell a good place to get her groomed. At the Boise Petsmart, they have glass windows where you can see how they groom your pets but my 10 year old son pointed out some red marking on the metal table that looked like blood And that is why I am sooo freaked, it might have been from a toe nail cut too short but who knows

| I would also suggest a small, private shop. With the others, you never know what you're going to get. Even with a private shop, since you haven't been there before, you will need to be very specific about what you want them to do. Good luck! Your baby is gorgeous!

| I like Petsmart but that is because I know a gorl that works there who is THE BEST GROOMER EVER!!!!!! I suggest you actually take a saturday at petsmart and watch through the window and SEE who brings out which dog and how you like the look they have. You will soon enough know who is a good grooomer there and who is NOT. At petsmart you can REQUEST certain groomers and I ALWAYS Do

| Here's one place I found that you could check out: Ada Board & Grooming 8250 West Victory Road, Boise, ID 83709 (208) 362-5288 And here is a list of all of 'em: http://www.google.com/local?q=pet%20...ar=Boise,Idaho

| I have only taken my yorkie to petsmart grooming for the almost year and a half I had her. I have only had the same girl groom her every time but I have no problems.

| I would think it would depend on the individual store. The Petsmart here is nice and clean and have done good jobs with my baby and my daughter's Gremlin.

| I would not take my dog to Petsmart or Petco personnally. I was at a Petsmart near where I live and no one one in the groomering area with the dogs, and I thought "WOW, someone can just go in there and grab a dog and no one would even notice". As for Petco, a location in Grand Prairie, TX left a Shih Tzu in one of the heat drying cages and the pup died. Now Petco will not take any responsiblity for it. |

| I have taken my dogs to many different grooming shops .... mostly small shops. Recently, however, I took my Bichon (a breed that probably is the most difficult to groom - ever!) to Petco. And, at Petco - he got the best cut he has ever had. You can't compare any of these places - small or large. They are all different and have different people working for them. My advise would to be to just try a couple different places - and you'll soon find that the one you like best --- and you'll probably end up with one groomer that you like best -- regardless of where they work. I, personally, am really thrilled that I tried Petco in my area. They are the best I have used yet..... And, actually, where I live - the Petco store that I went to - has a great reputation. Good luck! Carol Jean |
