My husband bought me my first yorkie, cause I needed the happiness at a bad time in my life. I just had my hysteroctomy surgery and I went into a depression state and my hormones were all out of whack. Anyways after being put on meds and seeking help, I needed something at home that would make me happy at all hours of the day. My husband knew how much I've wanted a yorkie and he decided to go through with it, not liking the yorkies himself. He has always liked his English Bulldogs. We had one at the time, and so we each had our own dogs. I spoiled Louie (yorkie) so much and my hubby was sickened. Long story, short....we couldnt keep our bulldog due to certain reasons, and then Louie was saddened. He lost his playmate. After 2 months, I couldnt stand to see him sad anymore. I begged for another yorkie, but this time I wanted a lil girl to spoil. He fought me for a while on this, and then finally gave in. He was sad still from having to find a new home for his bulldog, and he felt like we were replacing his dog with 2 of mine that he didnt much care for.
Well................. after we got Elle, my first yorkie(louie) had attached himself to my husband. He also has gotten to like Elle. He plays with her and holds her, and will even let her kiss him in his face. Which he would never let a dog do. It has on several occasions, brought me to tears seeing them interact with one another. He has begun to have a love for my babies. Who would have ever guessed. They bring so much joy to my life, that I honestly don't know where I would be without em.
I have been off the medication for over a year, and got all my hormone levels back where they should be. So yorkies CAN change a person's life, cause they sure changed mine. :D |
