Another option is to contact the Yorkshire Terrier Club of America. They can put you in touch with a branch in your state (or nearby), and they have a breeder referral service. It's one way to ensure that you find a reputable breeder. Just my opinion, but I think it's always best to go and meet a breeder in person, and see the conditions firsthand. Also, it's a good idea to see the parents of the pup you intend to buy. Good Luck!:aimeeyork |
Have you tried to go through www.akc.org? Thats what I did and I ended up finding a breeder who has now become a wonderful friewnd of mine. She sold me a beautiful boy and took great pride in her breed. What i did was select the breed I was interested in and than on the left hand side is Breeder contacts or something like that and that should give you good links to breeders in your area. These breeders are registered so HOPEFULLY they are not scammers if you do it this way. I personally would try to find someone in your area to purchase from. If you are unaware of Yorkie Breeders you could always ask grooming stores and vets offices- they usually know of good peoplel in your area to buy from. Good luck! |
We bought our beautiful Misha off a web site that was great. Masteroftails.com She was expensive but worth it. Haven't had a problem with her. Nextdaypets.com had Misha's picture on there from another breeder trying to sell her, she stole the picture from the website of masteroftails,so beware. We bought Piper from another site, we wanted a Morkie. Masteroftails only deals with purebreds. Piper was sick when we got her. Have had a lot of problems the 1st month. Plus when we bought her she said Piper was a morkie. I think the mother is a terrier mix & the father is a maltese mix. I don't see any Yorkie in her at all. Who knows, and it turned out she couldn't fly her in to our city after she said she could.I spent an extra 250 for airfare,& I ended up having to drive 3 hours to go & get her. We still love her but she is not what we expected. Be careful lots of scammers. |
Yes, Logan is Almost at the Utah / Idaho border Do you have a last name? I bought my female in that area or even your dogs breeding and I can tell you if I have run across that line? Bonnie |
Oh and another thing. When were you supposed to ship? It is REALLY HOT here right now. I mean like between 100-110 degrees. That is what I would be worried about. It is hot hot hot so I imagine in a plane it would still be pretty hot. Bonnie |
Also, If it is a person who has a name tha begins with a "J" They have a ton of different small breeds. Dachsunds, Westies, SHih Tzu, Yorkie and so on . That is usually the sign of a MIll.... Not sure if this is who you are dealing with or not. you can email me privately at bmurphy@sisna.com |
I have had 1 shipped before My male Artie came from a so called Breeder online, he flew from Ft. Lauderdale to Newark, then onto Boston. He actually survived, but he ended up being 20 weeks old not 12 weeks and 6 lbs. not 4 and No Champion Bloodlines in the first 3 Generations, as promised also by the Breeder! He had not been Groomed, his nails were un-cut, he had tapeworms and an ear infection. A year after I purchased him and still no AKC. Registration Papers, only after I paid an additional $350.00 added to the already paid amount of $1,350.00 plus the shipping charge of $250.00. For so called "Full Registration" and Breeding Rights. You can do the Math, not to mention the expensive Vet. bills! But in spite of all that he is as healthy as an Ox. And by far the best Yorkie/Dog Baby, I have ever had......and he has literally changed my Life. After all that it turns out that the Woman didn't even Breed him she supposedly bought him to Breed herself and she was merely re-selling him to me.....of course I didn't find this out until I actually/finally Registered him with the AKC. I guess that's equivelent of a Doggie back ground check?:aimeeyork "Buyer Beware" I guess it was just a Learning experience? I was impatient and I wanted A Yorkie, right away! I should have gone to a Local Breeder instead. I still don't regret it, even though he's 9 pounds and not 5 pounds? Good Luck! |
I would be really careful. So many of them are puppy mills, especially the ones selling more than one breed of dogs and no pics of parents. Why don't you go on the recommended breeders section and look for a breeder on yt? There are some very reputable breeders who are yt members. |
