Docked Tail...Stupid Question I KNOW there will be at least a few who make fun of me for asking this question, but I'm going to anyway :) I've only ever seen Yorkies with docked tails. My Baxter's tail is short. What exactly is docked-I think you have to actually do this to the tail... :confused: It doesn't grow back, does it? The reason I ask is because I just saw a couple of pictures of Yorkies and they had long tails. :D :rolleyes: |
To dock a tail means to shorten and no it doesnt grow back. The longer tails you see are undocked. I have the vet dock all my babies, many breeders do it themself some choose not to dock. There was a thread a couple of weeks ago with quite a bit of information under general forum. hope this helps |

My friend's yorkie (Scuddles' sister) has her tail natural since it was not docked. She can easily be found sometimes since her tail reminds me of a flag sometimes. she looks good though. |
