Male or Female, would you breed your Yorkie? Just checking how most of you feel about this. |
No. I leave that to people who know what they are doing. Plus I would want to keep all the puppies. :p |
i would breed nala IF i had a mentor or breeder that could teach me and help me and if i lived in my own house (live w/parents, sister & 2 other dogs) but even if i had the information and help of an experienced breeder i don't know that i would b/c i don't think i could sell any of the puppies. and just for the record i wouldn't do it for the money. |
No way. I couldn't handle the risk of losing Tia to breeding. Besides the fact that she's not a great representation of the breed (floppy ears, slight underbite) and I know zilch about how to do it :) |
No i would not breed. It's not worth the possibility of losing my dog. Also there are plenty of breeders out there that know what they are doing. Just would leave it to them. |
I also couldn't get into breeding. I wouldn't put Lily in any compromising situation and I would never be able to part with the pups. |
I would IF: I could keep ALL the puppies, knew what i was doing and had a breeding/show quality dogs. Otherwise...HELL NO! |
These numbers are suprising me. I thought more people would be more open to breeding. I'm sooooo glad we have this website to help guide us before making such decisions! |
Pixie was sold to me with limited registration and rightfully so, I have no business breeding her since I know nothing about it. I also neutered my male because he is the product of a backyard breeder and not a good representation of the breed and again because I know nothing about breeding. |
If/When Bailey gets his ch. he will be used as a stud. |
I couldn't do it. Those of you that have, have my deepest respect. I would be too scared plus I would want to keep them all. The big reason I don't know a darn thing about breeding and would probably be hysterical thinking of Sydnee just having sex! NOT my baby!!!! I even had my horses fixed. but thank God there are those of you who can and do, or I wouldn't even have my baby if we all felt like I do. |
I would..why not? If no new breeders pop up,soon there wont be any left.Jess is a great size to breed (7lbs),she has had tests to see if shes completely healthy, she has had x-rays to check the size of her pelvis, she has check ups every 2 weeks (I have insurance) and I have wonderful mentors:) My vet and my older yorkies breeder.Iv done tons of research and I feel comfortable with the whole situation. In never understood those that pounce on others when breeding is mentioned instead of actually helping with info etc.As long as you know all the ups and downs, have a healthy good sized yorkie and have some one to help you through the whole experience (breeder, vet etc),I think its fine:) What I dont agree with is those who buy a dog, breed it,THEN start look or info on the subject afterwards. You cant prepare for something like this in 2 months;) That said..I think we should start welcoming those who decide to breed instead of poopooing them all the time:(.There are some wonderful mentors out there who could help make new wonderful breeders:) Lets face it,If a new member pops online to do some research on future breeding and ends up being pounced on or judged,he/she will just leave/go elsewhere and do it anyway..isnt it better to help out?:) |
nope i would end up keeping all of them |
NO WAY would i ever breed, ide be the worste breeder on earth... i could never sell the pups... on the other hand, i would have my dream come true :D A YORKIE FARM :D no seriously, i wouldnt risk Chelsey's life and beside that, i will leave that for the experts, i have great respect for those that do breed and know what they doing... we wouldnt have our babies if it wasnt for them ;) |
I made the descision to breed Annabelle when she was very young. I found out everything I could before hand. I agree that people need to be able to come here and ask questions about it so they are more informed, than them just doing it. If what happened to belle didn't it would be much more enjoyable. The puppies are definitly the light at the end of the dark tunnel |
