My little Summer is almost 8 months old and she weighs about 3 pds. maybe a little more she is a pig |
Pearl goes between 2.4 and 2.7 depending if I'm trying to stuff her with cheese to fatten her up:p She is 11 months old.:) |
My Jasmine is 2 pounds, 12 ounces. She is 1 year and 9 months old. She is my avatar picture. My Butch is 3 pounds. He is a year old... he looks smaller than my Jasmine because his body is more compact. :woof: |

Badger is 3 pounds 8 ounces or something at 6 months and three weeks. We don't expect him to be more than four pounds full grown. I always find threads like this slightly uncomfortable because it seems to me that very small sized Yorkies are the only desirable type of Yorkie nowadays and everyone seems to be in competition about who has the smallest. I don't believe, personally, that a Yorkie under 3.5 pounds full grown is a good thing and I think it's a shame that the breed is deliberately being bred down to below this size because common sense dictates that this puts these dogs at risk of a lot of health problems and ultimately compromises the breed on the whole |
smallest yorkie I had a lady stop me yesterday admiring my little yorkie. Turns out she lives the next street down and has 5 yorkies! She said she has a 6 mo. old that is 1 lb 13 oz. Here I bought a yorkie many states away when practically in my backyard there some were(although she didn't say she had any puppies for sale). She wants me to stop by when she's older so she can see what she looks like grown up. She loved the color of mine. I didn't luck out so well with mats and gave her a modified puppy cut...regular face, long feet and just cut to the silver color on her coat. My husband said she looks like she's wearing little ugg boots. I took my Lola to puppy kindergarten yesterday and she was extremely popular. Since I carry her she didn't do so well on her leash and turns out I'm the only "bad mommy" who lets their baby sleep in bed with them :D Don't care, I'm spoiling her rotten anyway. I know I looked for a yorkie around 4lbs because I figured too tiny would not necessarily mean a long life or healthy, it'd be a shot in the dark. My Lolas parents are 2 1/2 and 3 lbs. I fell in love with a picture of her and it said in the ad that she'd be too small for breeding, which was fine by me. When I read some of the health problems I'm just very thankful she's healthy. |

I'm going to get another girl puppy from her and hopefully she will get to 4 pounds I think that is a nice sized yorkie. So,I'm keeping my fingers crossed I get her on Wensday of next week. |
Sadie is 5.5 lbs. EVERYBODY that sees her thinks she is soooo small. I think she is just the right size...I would be so nervous with a tiny 2 pounder around..They way yorkies jump and run around I'd worry about broken bones.. |

When I got my baby I didnt know either. She came from a 5 pound female, although her daddy was 3 and a half pounds. I have no idea how much she will weigh full grown .. she is now 7 and half months old and weighs 2 pounds 8 ounces... I am hoping to later get a girl that is around 4 to 5 pounds. Then maybe if my Vet gives the okay I could breed her... beings it "seems" Peaches will not be able to breed a litter.:( But that is fine with me... she is my lil sweetheart and I love her just the way she is... She is so dear and sweet!!! :) |

small ones 1 Attachment(s) My Gooshu weighed in at 2 pounds 4 oz at the vet 2 weeks ago. He is a neutered male, but I love him. He has such personality and is very healthy. The problem with runts is they could actually stand to stay inside mom and cook a few more days, but when the rest are ready they don't have a choice. Gooshu did not have the indentation to hold his knees in. We just took him and had one leg fixed. He is doing great. We will have the other done in 4 months. He is such a brave little guy. I had the vet run a bio-enzyme on him and she said other than the legs he is perfect and should live a lot of years. I was a little worried something else might show up later. He is worth all the money I put into him! I bought him from a breeder 4 years ago as I wanted to have a smaller male stud. She would have given me my $1,500. back after I discovered his problem, but she would have took him also. (I did not know what she would do with him, so I kept him and had him neutered). The vet said he thought his problems were runt problems and would probably not be genetic if it was not in the line, but I couldn't chance it. Check him out. Wouldn't you keep him to? ;) |
LOL My tiny Pearl is in no way FRAGILE...At least SHE doesn't think so~!!! She rough houses with the big dogs and is the highest jumper and fastest runner I have. Her sister Ruby is 7 pounds and they both came from the same litter. Pearl just stayed tiny though. I had NO IDEA when I got them what size they would turn out as i reserved them at 1 day old:p . |

I think everyone should be happy for everyone if they are happy with what they got... :p But I would agree people should not breed for Just the tinies and not care on the health or traits of a Yorkie. ;) |
Tinies OH!! I love Gooshu. He can come live at my house anytime. Don't tell Little Bit I said that. She might be offended. Seriously, he's a doll. I know you love him to pieces. But if you get tired of him, just let me know and I'll be there in a minute. I'm sure Little Bit would like a playmate once she got used to the idea. Donna:aimeeyork :aimeeyork |

Gooshu Hi everyone and thanks. Gooey is special. My husband named him Gooshu because he said if he stepped on him he would be shoe goo! He loves him very much also. He is a special little guy and everything about him is so healthy except his knees which is why we are getting them fixed for him. He has such guts! The doctor said it would be a month before he would walk on the first leg we had fixed. He was on it in a week. It is really hard to keep him from jumping. He just flys everywhere he goes. He loves everyone and is such a friendly little guy. He is 3 years old now. He also stands up to all my others including my 6 pound male. It's funny watching him protect a toy because the others won't even try to take it from him. My 6 pound male Gadget just loves him. He washes his face every night. Gadget picks on Cut 'N Polished and takes all his toys away, but doesn't with Gooshu and they are all males. I wish he was as nice to Gandor (Cut 'N Polished) as he is to Gooey. I am a breeder, but there will come a time when all mine are to old that I won't breed for awhile, as I just cant tell the ones I have now that I can't use them anymore so they have to go. The 9 I have now will stay with me for life. 4 of them are altered already. Thanks again everyone. We do love him. Ricki :D |
Forgot I forgot to say in my last post that I don't breed for tinies and I don't think most people do (however there are a few). Sometimes you just end up with one that is small. Happens to most breeders. I haven't had any runts yet, but I have had some small ones. We bought Gooshu. Someone has to take care of them and love them and I am glad there are people out there that do. Gooshu was not just small, he was a runt (should have been in a few more days and cooked longer). His parents are 5 and 6 pounds. We are very lucky that he checked out perfect except for his legs (and we had every test in the book run on him). What would happen to all the little ones if we did not love and care for them. I am glad all of you on this post have them and love them. Congratulations to all of you. I think they are all darling! 1 Attachment(s) [QUOTE=candybaby]Exactley it you love what you have then no one should say nothing negative about someone elses yorkie. The only reason I said sarcasim intended was because that other post said she did not like how tinies looked and mines a tiny. So I took that as she did not like how mine looked. As a matter of fact I want to get a little bigger one just because I LOVE ALL YORKIES and their sizes.[/QUOTE Yeah, I definitely think the tinies are cuties as well. My moms is a tiny and it just happened that way. Her tiny, Peaches... is 2 and a half pounds and is like 8 mths. :) and she is Gorgeous. Here is a picture of her |
Mine went to the pediatrician (a.k.a. vet) last week and at 2 years, 8 months she ways a whopping 2lbs., 3 oz. |
