I had a wonderful black lab/boxer female for 14 years, when we lost her due to age we decided no more pets.....we had 2 cats....hmmm, guess what, we had friends with a litter of yorkies, and only had one little male to find a home for.....I said no, no, no, but guess what I am now blessed with a little boy Sammy, then we found our girl, and now we have three....2 girls and a boy :) plus two female (spayed) cats. These yorkies have stolen our hearts. They also keep us young. |
I wanted a little girl because I have always had little girls, but after being on numerous waiting lists for litters that for one reason or another did not pan out and being disappointed for over 8 months, I could hardly get through another day when I answered an ad in the paper. Just to keep my options as broad as possible, I went, knowing they only had males left. When I saw Dennis he had everything I was looking for, with the exception of “Testicles”. So now he is my little “Girly Boy”. |
I wanted a little cuddly, lap baby and one who's hair I could put pony tails and bows in and dress up frilly. I prefer female pets for some reason. Thankfully, Sissy loves to weare her dresses and harnesses and is a girly girl!! |
I too wanted a girl @ 1st but then I seen Teddy, and got him...Then I got Tiffanie...But see Tiffanie is the bigger Yorkee and I would love to have a female around Teddy's size, maybe next spring Tiffanie will have a little girl that might be small like Teddy. But I love them both. Hugs, Lee |
I just wanted a girl, and my little Zoe is absolutely the sweetest little girl ever. My human children are both girls. I wanted a girl and boy, human that is, but God had other plans, and He knew what He was doing. I am so glad my human children are both girls, and my little Zoe is my girly girl. Don't dress her up, but it just would not be the same if she was a boy. My daughter had a male yorkie, and he is a sweetie, but he's all boy. |
Dan is the one who HAD to have a girl. I guess his biological clock was ticking and like most men, he wanted a little daughter to love. I also wanted a girl but for completely different reason. My first dog ever, when I was 10 years old, was a male poodle. That little guy was 100% Lover Boy! From the time he was a 3 month old pup he was on testosterone over drive. He practiced "Shagging" on my mom's slippers and my stuffed animals. We got him fixed but it made no difference. Dog, Cat, Pillow, Boy, Girl made no difference to him at all! That experience set me up for a life of nothing but girls. Now that I'm older, I understand his behavior was not typical of male dogs but none the less it all girls in the York family! |
All my yorkies past and present have been males. I think it's because I'm just more male oriented and like the fact that they aren't too dainty, and act like boys. I've always wanted sons too, so I guess I'm just less comfortable with the girly stuff. :aimeeyork |
Seems like a lot of people prefer girls - no wonder they cost more!!! The old law of demand is at work. And - I suspect a lot of you got girls with no desire to breed them....just for a pet - right? Carol Jean |
