I chose a girl because there are enough men around here already :) , lets see, one husband (male), kitty (male), beagle-mix (male). I was feeling outnumbered. |
I agree Quote:
Except for the wanting a daughter part :p All the furbabies in our house are female. My husband says he's surrounded by a bunch of *itches  But on a serious note, every male dog I have had, has taken a lot longer to train. So we prefer females. And we are very lucky that all our females get along. |
I actually didn't pick her out, my parents did. But if I had, I still would have gotten a girl. I've never had a male dog, and would be worried about the leg lifting, but w/a Yorkie, I wanted a girl because I wanted to make her a girly girl...I got a tomboy! |
We had 2 girly sugar gliders, and my husband wanted another boy in the house. And I love little boys, so I was glad to have a boy. He is so sweet. And he has never lifted his leg (knock on wood) and he is 1 1/2. I just wish there were more boy clothes out there. I love dressing him up. If I get another it'll probably be a girl for that fact alone. |
I actually wanted a female for a change because my last was a male. Well when I saw Buddy it was love at first sight. I read somewhere that a female dog would get along better with a male owner and a male dog would get along better with a female owner. I did not go by that but that statement I found interesting. |
I originally wanted a girl and the breeder said that I needed to see this little boy she had. She had both a male and female but once I saw Georgie the rest is history I just adored him it was love at first sight:D |
A Male In poodles the males are more devoted and affectionate. So I thought the same might be true in the yorkies.:animal36 2 males raise their legs(poodlesl) cuz I waited beyond 6 months to fix them, but never in the house they are very clean. 2 dogs 1 yorkie and 1 poodle squat and never raise their legs because they were fixed by 6 mos. and they are both very clean. My yorkie hadn't been too cuddly till just the last few days and now is wanting to be picked up and held just like my male poodles. |
i actually wanted a girl had her in my hands ready to pay tiny little thing then found out how much she cost ended up not getting her ($1500) then saw brownie(boy) ended getting him i still want my girl but ended up with 2 more boys i do love my boys tho there very cuddly ! |
I had wanted a girl so I could dress her up, bows, etc. but when I saw Jaxon I just knew he was for me. I wouldn't trade him for the world!!! Hopefully I can get a girl too and have the best of both worlds. :) |
I chose a girl because, I always wanted twin girls! I love dresses and girly stuff, so I wanted a baby girl to dress up! :) :animal-pa |
I wanted a girl because: 1. My previous yorkie was a girl and she was just wonderful! 2. My toy poodle and cat are females and I thought they would get along better 3. My female pets have always been more lovable and calmer than my males. 4. Everyone I know who has a female yorkie just loves them and can take them anywhere. I only know of one male where that is the case. 5. Family members who had male yorkies would never have another male due to behavior issues. They later got females and behavior was never a problem. 6-7-8-9-10 I JUST LOVE MY LITTLE ABBEY....THIS SHOULD BE #1 Ellie |
I have had both boys and girls that have been wonderful pets. I got a little boy - because his pee wouldn't kill the grass - and because he can wear a belly band (which is soooooooooooooo convenient)...... Other than the above two reasons, I wouldn't have cared. Carol Jean |
I love, love, love, little boy yorkies! I love little boys :animal36 . I always have and always wil, haha. I always purposely pick males, bc you can be all ruff & tumble with them. I remember when I was searching for my pups, I purposely skipped over all the females, even when they were the same price as the males. There's just something about a boy yorkie I adore. But finding cute clthes for them is a challenge:mad: |
I heard that boys were more affectionate and I really wanted a lap puppy. However, I aspire to have a Biewer yorkie someday and I'll probably get a girl. |
I have 2 sons that I love with all my heart, but, I have always wanted a daugther.... So, I got the next best thing.. 2 little girl yorkies and I am so glad I did. |
