Yes I would say they do to an extent. Baby will be 3 years in August. She slowed down a bit about the last year or so. She still rules the roost here and is in every ones face, but not as often. There are still times when she can be demanding though. |
Cali really started to calm down at 11 months at first I thought maybe she was sick but she just has mellowed. I love it. She still plays a bit but likes to sit by me and chew on a chew stick or lay by Maya. One thing we did is we set up my bedroom window area with an area that she can climb on to and lay around or she can look out 2 windows. She spends hours looking out at the bunnies and squirrels and neighbors. She hardly wants to play with her toys anymore. I found with most of my dogs by 18 months they really seem to settle down. |
I have to admit, Kizzy is almost 6 months and she is mellow during the day with just she and I. But when hubby gets home for a while she is just a handful. She is all over him and once he gets ready to watch tv there she goes right up in his lap. even made him spill his coffee once and his tea once. she just leaps without warning. And there she will stay till their both fast asleep unless he makes her get down while he reads the paper, then most times she just jumps right back up there. but he likes it once she gets settled in beside him or in his lap and leaves his news paper alone. lol |
I think it depends on the individual dog's personality. Our late yorkie Sparky, was a lap dog, she loved to sit on my husband lap. We also had a yorkiepoo at the same time and she wdas pretty mellow too. However we live on an acreage and they both would stay outside for long periods of time. So we never noticed the hyperactivity, they did it outside. |
:D I was glad to see this post. I was wondering the same thing. Oliver is 1 1/2, and has sooooo much energy. He's always ready to run, play, chase, you name it. :woof: |
