Bitsy had a relapse:(
 

I feel so bad! Bitsy had a relapse last night. I had to take her back to the ER. I thank God that I fell asleep on the couch with her and when I woke up at 12:30 her heart rate was up and she wouldn't eat and she didn't look right. She started going downhill fast!!! She did a little different this time. Her heart was beating so hard and so fast I thought she would have a heart attack. I think she was having convulsions or seizures or something. We've been so tired and she suffers quietly and if I had not been on the couch with the TV on and woke up we may have slept through it and she would have died. I thought things were going so well just feeding the pups every six hours. I feel so bad and responsible. I'm in a rush now to feed the pups and I'm starting them on puppy food this morning because, thank goodness, they are three weeks old! Then I'm going to pick Bitsy up. I asked the doctor last night about a shot to dry up her milk but he said he had never heard of such a thing. I'm taking her to her regular vet today too and will ask him about it. I hope and pray she doesn't have heart damage! She has had such a hard time. As hard as it will be I won't let her nurse anymore. Thankfully the puppy food should help the pups because I worried before that they weren't getting enough milk. I want to post a picture today of the pups. They are starting to walk on all fours now and seeing better and they actually look at me now. So precious! I keep looking back at the other thread at all the posts for references in all the advice you all have given me. Your support through this is indescribable! I wish Bitsy knew how much she is loved and cared about by so many!

I'll post again after lunch and let you know how she is doing. My mom had planned on coming over this morning to take me out to lunch and I'm going to get her to help me with the feedings. It takes so long to feed six of them.

I am so sorry to hear that :(. It is so hard to worry about your baby and worry about her babies. I am glad that your pups are 3 weeks. Mine are only 12days and I worry that their not eating enough too. Lots of sleepless nights and wrinkles but it is all worth it. There is a shot that will dry up her milk, it is just a matter of finding a vet who uses it. Please let us know. OUr prayers and thoughts are with you.

I am so sorry to hear that. I have been thinking every day about you and the pups. I just can't imagine having to go through it, you are holding up much better than I think I would. Hopefully her own vet will have some insight. I will be thinking about you all. Hope to see everything went well in your post after the visit to the vet.

Oh my heavens Michelle, my heart just goes out to you. I'm so glad you've had the wisdom of this forum for support through all this. I've had nothing to contribute except prayers but that's important too. I'll pray for all of you today. Hopefully the worst is behind you. Can't wait to see pictures of those precious pups and another one of Bitsy, Yorkie Mom of the Year!! God bless!

Oh My Dear God, I am so sorry to hear about Bitsy. I hope she is doing real well soon and i hope you can get some rest. You have been a amazing Mom and Grandma. I haven't been on in a little while now because of me working night shift. But, i remember seeing those precious pic's and let me tell you what a gorgeous girl you have. I had no clue as to what was happening. But, i will pray for the best for you and Bitsy and her babies!!!

Best Wishes for Bitsey..she will be okay with the pups off her now...they will be eating on their own soon..a big relief I know.
I am so glad you were there...it is always wise to get up during the night to check on a mom and pups..6 to 8 hrs unchecked is too long for me.

Im so sorry about Bitsy, I will have her in my prayers. I h ope she gets better soon . Please keep us posted. Im glad the pups are doing well. Im looking forward to see some baby pics.

I'm glad you caught it in time. I hope she is 100% very soon!

I am so sorry..........thank GOD you caught it. Just remember to check her when she scomes homes, don't let any knots form without getting rid of them. I am glad your babies are 3 weeks, mine were 2 days old, its a rough schedule.

Just want to say how sorry I am that Bitsey and you have to go through this again for the second time. It's very lucky that you were there when she had her relapse... Many thanks to all of you for your sweet birthday wishes!! It really was a great 37th birthday! :).....and no grey hairs yet :D

We just finished a puppy feeding. They love the puppy food and they seem more content after their feeding than when they just got milk. It's a total MESS though :p Much worse than either of my kids made with baby food! We're using those things you get in the baby department that looks like a shot and it's used for giving babies medicine. When an air pocket gets in it and you try to push it out, it flys across the room if you aren't aiming it in a downward motion! Yesterday my mom almost shot it right in my face :p The laundry thats piling up is TERRIBLE! They are also pooping and peeing on thier own now. :thumbup:

Bitsy is doing good! It's wonderful to see her tail wagging! She is such a loving and affectionate baby! I've been keeping a warm pack on her teets and massaging them. She loves it! They are really swollen this morning. I've cut way back on her food. I haven't done it yet but am still going to look for a vet that will give her that shot to dry up her milk. I tried the plastic wrap with a warm towel and ace bandage but couldn't get it! Bitsy looked at me like I was crazy! I found an ace bandage that I forgot I had that has the hot/cold pack already inside of it and it's been working great.


I finally had a shower last night....after three days without one :D I can assure you that is out of the ordinary for me :p I had a great nights rest and am ready for the day! After the next feeding I'm going to go shopping and spend the birthday money I got yesterday on doggie stuff :D I cannot think of a better way that I would enjoy spending it:)

You all are awesome and I couldn't have gotten through all this without you and I meant that from the very bottom of my heart!!! When I have to let go of these puppies I am going to add to the contract of the new owners this website address and highly encourage them to join YT! It would also be a great way to keep up with my grandpuppies and see them grow up!
