which breed ? My yorkie boy is 6 month old now, and i want to get a second dog. there is some things that very important for me. 1) lap dog that love to snuggle 2) don't like strangers at all 3) very loyal and needle ( My yorkie is amazing, very smart and cute, but he loves everyone and not loyal at all :( + hate to sit on my lap ) I am thinking about a chihuahua , but i hearing so many opposite things about them...so i really don't no. It's must be a smal breeds. If you have any idea for me, i will appreciate it a lot. Thanks |
A lot of how yorkies act and react depends upon how they are socialized when very young. Many yorkies are very protective and anti-social. :) I can't really help you select a breed, I do know that chi's tend to be very protective, I have heard the same things about Yorkies, Doxies, Affenpinchers, poodles and just about every other small breed. Yea, i guess its depends a lot on personality. The funny thing is, brother of my yorkie hate strangers so much...and they grow up together. |

I think you should get another yorkie!:p They really are all different- I have one who is not very affectionate. She's sweet but not into being held and snuggled and one who wants to be held and snuggled all of the time. If you really don't want another yorkie how about a maltese? They're supposed to be little sweethearts. |

Nikki I am just afraid. That it will happend again...i have no idea how can i know that from the begining. It's very hard to know the personality when the puppy is young. |

My yorkie as well. When he see company he is very happy..lick and play with them, and i am getting very jealous. My dream is to have a dog that only loves me...even not my hubby :)) Like , i am his world... I know many dogs that way and i love it so much, i hope to get one of those one day. |

It has been my experience that a chihuahua is not a good cuddler. I have been around a lot of them, my inlaws together have about 6 at least. Don't like them (in laws, not the chis :D )so I lost count. I did have one myself at one time. Gypsy is a confirmed cuddler and loves my lap most. But dtr's yorkie is a total bundle of energy. |
Malteese are cuddlers. I dont know how they are with strangers |
