How scary for you?! I'm so sorry you are going through this. I hope little Cookie will be better with his meds. We'll keep him in our prayers. |
Im so sorry Cookie is sick and that your family had to go thru this. Im glad that he is better. I agreed about the dreams. I will keep him in my prayers. Please keep us posted. Hugs. :ghug: |
your story brought tears, I am very hopeful your vet can keep his illness under control. Amazing your dream, but thank god real life had a better outcome. I loved hearing how your family has bonded with your little one he is lucky to be so loved and cared for. |
im so glad your yorkie is ok i know how scary it is when they have a fit my sasha had them for years and every time she had one i thought oh my god is this one it, my heart gos out to you. |
I am so very glad that Cookie is ok. What an amazing story! I am so very glad that you had a happy ending..... Poor little Cookie! Your daughter is the Hero of the Day! And your husband needs a HUGE hug for his quick thinking. |
I am so sorry to hear about Cookie. I know what my yorkies mean to me and all I can say is my heart goes out to you. I thank God that Cookie is so fortunate to have such good parents. I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers. |
I know what you mean about your heart breaking. i just lost Bailey this past Friday and I have cried everyday since, but the day it happened my heart hurt. I still don't want to love another dog but I know it is too soon to even go down that road. I'm glad your baby is okay! |
OMG, I couldnt imagine what you must have been going through. I hope Cookie is doing better, I will pray for all of you! |
I'm glad that Cookie is okay-I will be praying for him. |
Back from his vet appt. Update 2 Attachment(s) Well I took him today to see the vet to see if putting him on the two meds: Marin and Denosyl plus Lactulose drops will lower his high ALT (liver enzymes) basically the toxins that are suppose to flush out through urine/fecal got backed up in his body and that can cause seizures if the levels are too high . So she agrees that I should give him these meds. I don't need a prescription and can buy them online for about 50% cheaper than any vets in my area. Plus she gave us a new homemade diet which has the lowest protein Ihave seen. Basically a NO MEAT diet. So he is on white rice,1 boiled egg, vitamins, calcium carbonate. And that is for a week of food. So basically 1 egg for a whole week :( I can give him cheerios as a snack to increase appetite . He will have his blood checked in a week to see if there is some kind of improvement. Right now his ALT level is 670 and it should be lower than 100. So even if it goes down to 650 ,it shows improvement and I will keep him on this diet until his levels are within normal range. If his levels continue to rise he can go into severe Liver failure and that's the point of no return for most dogs. So please keep this little guy in your prayers this week. I will post an update next week if Iget his results soon. Genie, Cookie & Lola |
OH GOOD Genie - I've had him on my mind and was hoping to see you post...That sounds promising !! GOOD LUCK and you have lots of prayers for your little guy for those levels to be in normal range ...I know you must be so stressed but this is an alternative and maybe the key to keeping him healthy so he can live a nice long life |
AHH Jeanie! I just read this, (I've been out of town) I'm so sorry you are going thro this! I hope everything works out ok. How is he liking his diet? Let me know if there's anything I can do to help! Jennifer |
