$5000 is really very, very, expense. I paid $2000 for a yorkie that was 1-1/2 pounds at 12 wks. and I too, feel madly in love and had to have her (of course, I don't regret a penny of it..I adore her) but as I kept looking, I found out that I paid a bit too much and could have gotten a puppy a lot less from very good breeders even if though it involved a little more traveling. But, if you can do it, and your heart is set. Then go ahead and don't re-think your decision. Of course, I would make sure all health guarantees are spelled out in writing. Good luck |
O.k I don't want you to feel picked on but I think that is way too much. If I were in your shoes and had that money I would look for a show quality yorkie which would end up costing you less but be a very nice quality pup. I am getting a show quality pup for $1840 and she is a doll :aimeeyork . I am going to take her out in the ring and whether she win or lose she is a winner in my heart already (and she is not home yet lol) and the breeder does ALL kinds of testing before she comes home. She will be coming home in 10-15 days and will be turning 5 months old tomorrow. If it is a pet only you are looking for I am sure you can get a very good puppy for way less don't rush into things and look around. Good luck!!! ;) |
Sorry, but that is C-R-A-Z-Y and I am/ was a tiny freak! I have 3 tinies, they are out there and you can get one waaaaaY cheaper and have monry left for a vacation. A lot of times I have found if your looking for a tiny, people knocked off oz's when I would arrive and insist on weighing them they were ALWAYS more than I was told. Same thing when I was looking at Great Danes, people love to to makr them taller and heavier....you get there and you can see, they lied! I just bought a top pedigree yorkie to show and paid $ 1800.00 so 5000 just seems crazy to me. Its not a matter if you have it or not......Please check them out if you are going to go ahead with the sell. Make your list and be honest with yourself ( I know, remember I am a tiny freak.....lol ) If you can not check off your list the things you have listed.....then Don't buy there. Angie |
I would shop around...sounds like way to much money to me...and I have also heard that alot of the tinies have health problems... chris |
Wow, she must be part gold! |
Here in Florida, I paid $1050.00 for my Tucker who was the smaller of two males in a litter of 3 pups. The breeder was asking $1200.00 for the female and $900.00 for the larger male. I saw both parents and was hopeful that Tuck might stay close to their weight range (5 lbs) but he is 4.5lbs now at 5 months. The vet said he might go to 9! But it doesn't matter - he has my heart now regardless. Hey, if your budget is in that range, why not get two at a reputable breeder whose price isn't so "out there". Double trouble can be lots of fun! Dana |
