I am not pushing this but..... 1 Attachment(s) Several people ask about my breeder. I just want to make sure I answered all request. Her name is MaryAnn Humphreys. Her phone number is 540-371-0260. She lives off Va-3 off I95 north outside of fredericksburg VA It takes me an hour from Richmond. She will not ship any baby. She will do her best to arrange a time convienent (sp?) for you. She is really such a sweet lady. This is what she does. She does it for love not for money. Her and her husband have made many trips to find champ. healthy, etc. Yorkies to breed. She won't let her babies go until they are at 10 wks. b/c she won't wein then until 8 wks. old and then doesn't take them from their mom until they leave. She has kept a few tinies a little longer. but if you are like me you don't want them until you know they are ready to go. Again this is why I say she does it for love. She said thanks for being interested and she knows why. She wanted to keep Caesar and Cleo both for herself and couldn't b/c they had so much personality that they needed me. LOL..... Good luck in your adventures......Please let me know if you do get one of hers and do send pics. I have attached a pic of ...Cleo in the middle....A male on left and female on right that I saw tuesday.......Sorry TX she sold the male today but didn't say that she sold the female yet.....anyway thought I would show you some more of her beauties other than Caesar and Cleo Silly me I forgot to attach it.......Here goes |
thankx for her information |
Yep, bet we could. There is a breeder on the East Coast who overprices her Yorkies all the time. I keep seeing the same puppies listed and I keep wondering why..Yes, they are over-priced. Yes, they are tiny and we all know of tinies that have a myriad of medical problems. Even the absolute cutest babies on these forums have problems that might be responsible for their tiny size.. Can you fly to the breeder and check the baby out first hand? And, find a vet in the same area-not associated with the breeder- to check that baby out BEFORE you leave with her..What is the health guarantee?Take back agreement? Registration? Those are big bucks to pay for a puppy. You could buy a dog from a show breeder with points and a great health history for less money than that.. Please don't think we are picking on you..we are telling you to hold the breeder accountable and justify that price.. |
i don't feel picked on i am just glad i found this site because this will be my first yorkie that i aould have purchased from a breeder and need all the info i can get. |
There are actually quite a few Yorkie breeders in Texas if you go to the YTCA website. You can also look in the classifieds for bigger cities around you. $5000 is way too much to pay and sounds like it's a bit of a scam to me. Good luck on your search!! :) YTCA Breeder Referral Page |
i forgot to add the following info For all of you who have been to www.puppymillrescue.com will know that missouri is very big on puppy mills. the breeder of the dog is located there. there are good breeders in missouri right? |
I paid $1200 for Bridget, and got my last one for free, with a female pup from a litter later on. My brother got a puppy that ws 2 weeks older than mine and about 6 oz smaller and paid $1650, but that included shipping. I though $1650 was a lot, but $5000, no way, that is way to much Bridget should be just over 4 lbs as an adult, to much smaller and you take some chances. |
I guess some people are very lucky i wish i could get a free yorkie that way there is more money to spend on outfits.lol but my search for the perfect yorkie goes on. |
Thank you Lovebug |
Thanks lovebug!!!!! Your babies are beautiful! |

PlatiumYorkies, Your welcome too....good luck as well....... |
I would never pay $5000 for a puppy. Unless of course it was a puppy i had that was sick. I think you should really look around . Please, don't pay that lady that kind of money. Something just does not seem right to me. Ultimately it is your decision, but think of this. When you buy a much cheaper puppy, imagine how much money you can spend on it to spoil it!!! :) |

$5000 is really very, very, expense. I paid $2000 for a yorkie that was 1-1/2 pounds at 12 wks. and I too, feel madly in love and had to have her (of course, I don't regret a penny of it..I adore her) but as I kept looking, I found out that I paid a bit too much and could have gotten a puppy a lot less from very good breeders even if though it involved a little more traveling. But, if you can do it, and your heart is set. Then go ahead and don't re-think your decision. Of course, I would make sure all health guarantees are spelled out in writing. Good luck |
O.k I don't want you to feel picked on but I think that is way too much. If I were in your shoes and had that money I would look for a show quality yorkie which would end up costing you less but be a very nice quality pup. I am getting a show quality pup for $1840 and she is a doll :aimeeyork . I am going to take her out in the ring and whether she win or lose she is a winner in my heart already (and she is not home yet lol) and the breeder does ALL kinds of testing before she comes home. She will be coming home in 10-15 days and will be turning 5 months old tomorrow. If it is a pet only you are looking for I am sure you can get a very good puppy for way less don't rush into things and look around. Good luck!!! ;) |
Sorry, but that is C-R-A-Z-Y and I am/ was a tiny freak! I have 3 tinies, they are out there and you can get one waaaaaY cheaper and have monry left for a vacation. A lot of times I have found if your looking for a tiny, people knocked off oz's when I would arrive and insist on weighing them they were ALWAYS more than I was told. Same thing when I was looking at Great Danes, people love to to makr them taller and heavier....you get there and you can see, they lied! I just bought a top pedigree yorkie to show and paid $ 1800.00 so 5000 just seems crazy to me. Its not a matter if you have it or not......Please check them out if you are going to go ahead with the sell. Make your list and be honest with yourself ( I know, remember I am a tiny freak.....lol ) If you can not check off your list the things you have listed.....then Don't buy there. Angie |
I would shop around...sounds like way to much money to me...and I have also heard that alot of the tinies have health problems... chris |
Wow, she must be part gold! |
Here in Florida, I paid $1050.00 for my Tucker who was the smaller of two males in a litter of 3 pups. The breeder was asking $1200.00 for the female and $900.00 for the larger male. I saw both parents and was hopeful that Tuck might stay close to their weight range (5 lbs) but he is 4.5lbs now at 5 months. The vet said he might go to 9! But it doesn't matter - he has my heart now regardless. Hey, if your budget is in that range, why not get two at a reputable breeder whose price isn't so "out there". Double trouble can be lots of fun! Dana |
