I'm catching up on post and I really feel for you. It's SO hard on your own heart and emotions for mommie and babies! I let Bitsy poop and pee her babies before and after a feeding too so she doesn't feel left out. She also watches us like a hawk! My thoughts and prayers are with you as well!!!!! |
Also, I can tell a big difference in the pups now(three weeks old) than when they were two weeks old and we were trying to feed them ourselves. It's still not easy but it is easier than before. Hang in there! |
Thanks Michelle, When I read you threads about Bitsy it was so sad. I wanted to come help, little did I know I would need help. The pups started trying to walk, and their eyes are about ready to open. IT is a sad hard time but seeing the little achievemnets makes it worht it :) It will be so hard when it comes time to let them go. :( |
You are SOOO welcome!!! When I read your thread I wanted to come help you too!!! It is so hard but you are right in seeing the little achievements they make is so encouraging and so worth what you are going through! I can hardly even think of letting these little babies go:( I'm so attached to them already! I'm so worried about them having a good home! I know exactly how you feel! If you want to PM me anytime or if you need any support in any way I will be more than willing to help! This forum has been a life support for me and I'm sure for you too as well! |
Annabelle was attacked My heart has been crying since I first read about this several days ago. I continue to think & pray about you daily. I hope everything works out. You have entered our hearts. |
I too have been watching this thread and just want you to know that I'm thinking about Annabelle and those poor babies. It's so heartwrenching that she can't take care of her babies and obviously so much wants to. Sounds like you're doing a great job. Keep us informed. |
Up date I spoke with the owner of the bad dog tonight. She seemed real nice which made it even harder to be mad. She is willing to pay for what might need to be done. There has been no improvement on Belle, she is still sleeping a lot, and when she is awake she wants to be with the babies. Tomorrow is the big day. I will post what happens tomorrow night. Thanks for all of the thoghts and prayers. :) |
I spent an hour reading your story and I am so sorry for what you've been thru ...it's awful how fast things can change and I hope your Annabella is going to get better....poor little mommie - this really is touching and so scary - GET WELL Annabell...lots of hugs from Houston - Chanel & Cheri think you're very brave. |
Im so sorry that Anabelle is still not doing well. Im glad that the owner of the stray dog is willing to pay for the vets bill. I will keep Anabelle in my prayers. I really hope that you get great news tomorrow. How are the pups doing? I hope they are doing well. Good luck tomorrow. Gucci sent puppy kisses. |

All our love to you It makes me so sad to read about this kind of thing happening, when it is so preventable. I hope that Annabelle and the puppies all get better soon. I also will keep all of you in my prayers. The same thing happened to our cat a few weeks ago. Someone keeps letting their Pit-bull dog run loose at night and early in the morning in our neiborhood. Our cat was in our front yard when this dog came running after him. Lucky for the cat he was abel to get up the tree, but not before the dog almost ripped off his entire tail. He had 1" deep wounds that could not be sewn up. We had to let them all heal from the inside out. They drained for over two weeks before they stopped. He was on IV antibiotics for two days, and then had to have two shots of antibiotics every day for two weeks. The vet also had to debree the wounds several times, and each time huge amounts of puss and junk would come out, because of the infection. |
AnnaBelle will be OKAY :D We spent 10 hours at UT today. When we got there Annabelle was extremely lethargic and showing signs of dehydration. They found the second puncture hole and were able to open it up so the area could be cleaned out. No feces entered her stomach that was good news. There was a tear in her rectum, which is where the feces was leaking into her back from. They were able to hydrate her and clean all of the wound out. WHen she came out she was boucing everywhere, like she had never been sick. Her surgery to fix the whole is on Thursday. There is some nerve damage on the left side of her rectum, but they said that wont affect her. She should be able to live a healthy life with no side effects. He said that if the infection had remained in there when her antibiotic ran out she would have gone septic. I am so glad that I pushed my vet here. Thanks for all of the support, we couldn't have done it without all of you. :) :) :) |
