I am so sorry to hear about what happened :( . Please know we are all here for you. I wish I lived closer so I could help you with your pups I know it has to be hard caring for the pups and thier momma. I will say a prayer for you. P.s Please remember to keep everything written down,copies of vet bills, and pics of her wound if possible. The other dog owner should be liable for all bills. |
Oh my...I am SO sorry this happened. Life just isn't fair sometimes. :( I will keep Annabelle and her pups in my prayers. I mean that too. (I would definitely get the police out there so you have some legal documentation. I am so mad at the irresponsible dog owners.) |

Thanks to all for the support and prayers. As long as we keep the wound cleaned out she shouldn't become septic. It will probably be this weekend before we know how things are going to go. I decided to put Annabelle in a onesie so she could be with the pups some. I can't leave her alone with them though, becuase they could get in the outfit. As soon as the other owner gets back in town, she will definitly hear from me. Annabelle seems to be doing okay right now. The pups are eating the puppy formula with a little condensed milk. There are 2 that have leveled off with weight gain, but I am hoping that now they know there is food in the bottle they will resume gaining weight |
50/50! chance!!!!!!!! OMG, how awful. :( .... did you ever call the animal control to pick up the aggresive dog??? Keep us posted on how shes doing (and how the owner takes the news,...... do you think they are the person to take responsibility and pay for vet bills ect.... or are they the kind of person to tell you to F^@K off *sorry for the language, but i have been told that by dog owners before when i confront them about their agressive dogs*) And how horrible for the babies too :(.... i am hopign for good news :) |
I actually got a tear in my eye reading this. I am so sorry to hear about Annabelle. Do they think she will recover OK? I suggest calling a shelter ASAP! That dog attacked your baby and could also attack people. Some authority needs to hear about this. The owner - who let their dog go free without supervision - should pay your vet bill. |
this is terrible! i told my husband about this after your first post. i am constantly warning him of keeping an eye out for other dogs when he walks our 2. he thinks i am being over protective. i read him the post and he shook his head.he feels bad for you too. hope all is going well. hugs and prayers your way. |

This is soo sad. I hope everything works out. You, Annabelle, and the babies will be in my thoughts. You have been very admirable keeping so calm, i would have allready torn into whomever was responsible for the dog and had the police, the shelter, anyone who would listen out there. I think it's great you can keep your thoughts organized. Good luck and keep us posted! |

Annabelle update THanks for all of the threads. I thought I would let you kow that Annabelle is not doing well. Feces has traveled into the air pocket of her back. The vets here can't do anything for her, so they are sending us to UT. THere might be a chance that they can do surgery but we are unsure. I have been bottle feeding the babies, but they seem to be getting constipated. Any suggestions? Thanks again and I will keep everyone posted. |

Oh No Poor Baby. This is so sad and makes so angry. I hope that you had contact the authorities and reported the attack. I will definetely have her and the babies in my prayers. I really that the docs can be able to help her. :( |

ttreatsyorkies I am so very sorry for you, this is all too sad. since mom isnt able to take care of them are you helping them go pee and poo? if not take a warm damp cotton ball and rub there peepee for about 20 seconds then do the same thing for the anus, do this ever time you feed them this should help the constipation. hope this helps |
Also if you are doing the stimulation..then try filling a syringe with a bit of warm water...its a warm water enema, put a bit up their anus it should relieve them in minutes if not repeat it again. This always works. again I am so very sorry for you I hope she pulls through |
I am able to make them pee, poo takes a little longer though. I had just noticed that one of them struggled so much getting the poo out, and it looked hard. Annabelle watches me like a hawk, when I have them. Even sick she is a good mommy :) |
1 Attachment(s) a little karo syrup or honey will act as laxitive when added to theier formula.if bowels still are sluggish a drop or two of mineral oil on the puppy's tounge. sometimes a soapy emina is needed. Poor anne and the babies. i am nursing a baby right now cause she was to week to suck she is 1 week old now . Good luck and you are in my prayers. |
i'm so sorry annabelle isn't feeling good. i will say a prayer for her and you as well. i know you must be stressed with trying to take care of her and her babies. |

We have not made any progress in Belles condition. Her back keeps filling up and she is so swollen. I can't seem to help her as much as I want. Thankfully Tuesday is one more day closer. We have made it over the puppy poo hurdle. alll are doing well and gaining. They will be 2 weeks tomorrow. I let Belle clean them too, so she is not left out. We already have a routine. I have a large dog kennel in my dining room( they need to be completely inclosed because I have cats, other wise I would keep them in a playpen), Belle lays on a blanket next to the kennel I let her clean the one I am going to feed, and once they are nice and full I let her clean them again and have snuggle time. The pups and her both seem to have adjusted to be apart. Thanks for all of the prayers and support :) |
