if you have to give parker away is there someone close by that you could give him to? that way you could maybe visit him |

I have a male yorkie that wears a diaper when he is out of his dog room... my three yorkies have their own room with tile on the floor and a dog door and they still have accidents - my husband just shakes his head - he loves them as much as I do..I'm sorry you cannot keep him. Diapers do work well - much better than the belly bands, I have those also. |

I am sorry that you are going through it has to be tough that your husband isn't a dog lover like you are. I am sure there is something that you can do to train him not to do it. My brother has a Jack Russell that pee'd a lot in the house and the vet put him on bladder medication and he is fine now. I hope everything works out for you. Do some research call a trainer etc and bring the info. home to your husband. |
if $ wasn't an issue, how about getting a personal trainer in the house to deal with the problem that way you can keep him? |
I have til the 9th to try to make him turn around. Its not just a problem since we got Maddie althought I think it got worse. I know everyone always blames it on the human, but maybe sometimes it is the dog??? I dont know. . I have really tried so hard since he was born. He is so spoiled. He sleeps with us and will not pee in our bed the whole night, but them acts like this. So I know he can hold his pee. I hope you guys all know I really really love Parker and he is like a child to me. I would never in a million years do anything to aid in his training. I agree that I cant spend my entire day on just Him trying to make him behave. ( maybe that makes me a bad owner) I dont know... I do have 2 children, ages 12 and 2 and Maddie. And to be honest nothing against anyone, but I dont want to have to put a belly band on 24/7. He is a smart dog and will ring a bell to pee and will pee on the pads, and everywhere else too.I dont get it.......:( :( :( :( :( :( |
Your husband must have a sensitive nose like my son. But like I said, I use diaper wipes in-between pad changes (the powder fresh ones.. LOL) and Joey doesn't seem to smell. At lease you have until the 9th or shortly after to try everything in your power. I hate that you have to go through this, but remember, no matter what I or anyone else says, you are the one who lives at your house and knows what is best for your situation. I wish you all the best in making your decision and as any friend, I will respect your decision no matter what it is. |

Oh wow - that's so hard and I don't know what to say.....I wish you all the best and while you do have to put your family first - in the long run - you may resent your husband so much for this it could really hurt your marriage. It should be a 2 way street - not one person calling the shots. I would be so devasted too hearing this. I'm so lucky my husband loves the girls and tolerates things like this well. But I also understand not everyone does.....:( Is there just ONE room you can have him stay in and try to train him to only use a pad ...then gradually let him out in the house ? I hope you get some help here and things work out for you and Parker. |
you have a little time, maybe hubby will cool down by then and you can have a heart to heart...a compromise would mean something where he's happy and you're happy...like possibly a trainer that you research really throughly and has had success with this sort of thing. Maybe he'll let you try one and if that doesn't work, then you will have to give in. You're right, saving your marriage is first and foremost. There's gotta be a reason he's doing this if it's not medical. Have you tried crating him (I know this sounds cruel) for the most part of the day until he understand pottying is only for outside of the house? |

Good Luck to you on your decision..... he is still a baby tho! I had somewhat of the same problem with Tootie but he is eventually getting better..... he is 10 months old now and is ALOT better than he was at first. He still has accidents but not near as frequent. d |
